Cargo bays are confirmed, and even more interestingly, Maxmaps has confirmed that parts enclosed in the bays will not generate drag in atmosphere, even in stock aero. While not quite the aero overhaul that is desired by some, it is definitely a step in that direction and towards fairings being useful in stock.

Don't expect the module in 0.25 though. The more we dig the more we find regarding aerodynamics. Promising.

Looks like a reasonable place to ask this - did we get any hint of downward facing (aka bomb bay) cargo bay doors appearing in addition to the SP+ upward doors we (the "we" who've been playing with SP+ in anticipation) are used to? I vaguely recall some discussion earlier but not sure if this was confirmed or merely wished for.

Would be handy for landing a plane on the moon...

Also - and I appreciate I'm just being greedy here - any circular 2.5m/1.25m cargo bays in the works for rockets? I'm assuming for 0.25 they'll be limited to the SP+ plane shaped ones.

The SP+ parts were reworked to be symmetric (not black on the bottom any more) so the one cargo bay will look fine either way up.

Yay! Thanks for that Wasn't fussed about the colour but the shape being previously asymmetrical as well looked a bit off.

I wish they could steal some B9 code and make it have tweakables, like bay doors on bottom or top, fuels, etc.

Although from what I hear the devs and B9 fellow had a falling out and don't really talk much anymore. (confirm pls?)
