Can't start the game

I wanted to try out the new version, but whenever I try to start it up, I get a black screen forever. This a fixable thing, or am I gonna wait for a patch?

I feel like the Parts folder should have stuff in it. Am I wrong in that assumption? If there should be stuff in it, could that be causing my game launching problems?

[edit] Resources, Sounds, and Internals are all empty as well. I really feel like there should be stuff in those...

If not under GameData, they are legacy folders for installing old (pre partmodule) mods. They are empty by default.

edit: for future reference, it's probably worthwhile to keep multiple questions to a single thread initially.
