How to make a dropped missile(i.e missile stored in a cargo bay that drop at ignition

Recommended Posts

(sorry for the unmatched bracket, I didn't had enough place to put it).

As the title suggest, I want to make a missile that I would store in a cargo bay then drop it at ignition. The missile would consist of a simple SRB.

I tried to make one using a decoupler and to make it drop fast enough to avoid any collision between the plane and the missile but it doesn't work.

If it help, here a picture of the missile.

It's all about staging. You want to decouple your missile at the same time you fire it off. To do this you need to have all of the appropriate engines in the same stage as your decoupler. Something else you can do is tweak the thrust on the back seprotrons so that your front ones are profiding more force, which will cause it to pitch down, instead of trying to push the whole thing clear all at once.

Is there any video where I could check how to do this?

I tried your advices but it don't seem I can do them right.

To tweak the thrust just right-click and slide the thrust limiter down. It looks like you have your stages set up already. Scott Manly used a control surface that he had set at a downward angle.
