Kerbin is getting far too hot.

If what you\'re saying is that Kerbin is too close to Kerbol, keep in mind that Kerbol is [theorized] to be a red dwarf. We know that its output is much lower than the Sun\'s, and so therefore Kerbin can sustain life at its current orbit.

In fact Kerbin still needs a strong greenhouse effect to stay warm enough for grass and liquid water. Thankfully the atmosphere appears to have a high molecular weight (from the scale height), and my favorite candidate for a major constituent of it is sulfur hexafluoride, SF6, which is a greenhouse gas.
