My Career in 0.25. Semi-easy walk-through.

I am playing KSP for more than a year now. Passing "Career mode" for the N'th time gets not so interesting but I still want to play in the full stack instead of limited sandbox. So I just start a Normal mode to get a new user experience of the game.

I've digged some science around the KSP. You know even monument has its own biome. Ran through basic contracts. Even rescued <name> Kerbal from orbit. It's all about the science at the beginning of the game especially when you have a bit of experience.

I have no idea what those contracts are but I take a risk. It's all about science and I don't count the money - I manage to write some contract of conversion 60% of money to science (lacked reputation for more).

Here the fun part starts.

I take a mission to the Mun. It was a disaster from the start. Expensive SSTO burned because of lack of electricity. Because of lack of fuel managed to land only at single spot of the Mun. Not much of the science instruments at that level of science development either.

Nevertheless Mun contract completed. How much science? :huh: Opened almost all science tree for a single shot to the Mun and no losses on the credit?

So bottom line.

- Some Grumpy Kerbal adviser is required in the game. Like helper tutorial which can be switched off.

- Contract are far too cheap. Price should rise exponentially.

- I really like idea of converting science to other resources after all science tree is opened. This leaves the point in collecting science further.

This reads more like your observations and suggestions, so might be better in the suggestion sub-forum...

And you might be a bit premature; Squad have said that they will now be going back through everything they've got in the game, to tidy up and 'fix' some of the things us players find most annoying - including bug-fixes for some that have been in the game a long time but have never been looked at (Player suggestions are now being ranked/rated by voting by players), aerodynamic model, and lots of other things too... :)

In the meantime, you can hotfix the strategy system's imbalances by going into GameData/Squad/Strategies/Strategies.cfg and adding an extra 0 after the decimal point on the minRate and MaxRate of Outsourced R&D (0.0027778 and 0.00347) and Appreciation Campaign (0.0041667 and 0.00520), as well as adding a trailing 0 to Fundraising Campaign (70 and 90) and Patents Licensing (80 and 100).
