Make time and date format dependent on Kerbin's orbit and rotation.

Recommended Posts

Currently the clock and date format is hard coded to either 6h days and 426 day years or 24h days and 365 day years.

With several mods out there changing the orbital information of the system it would be great if the in game clock (6 hours, 426 days) was computed by the game based on the orbital information.

That way when a mod changed the orbit and rotation of Kerbin, the clock would always match.

45h 365 days could remain as the real time standard, but the in game option would always match, not matter what mod was being used.

Probably easier than this, and no less flexible (indeed, more flexible!) for us would be to have the number of seconds in a day, and days in a year, customizable rather than hardcoded to the two existing options.

Especially given the difference between solar days and sidereal days...

Yep, I agree with Nathan. This is an issue that I encounter a lot. It gets me to do some multiplikation :P But it would take away those unpleasant panic attacks that strike me once in a while when I believe my lieve support is not sufficient. Different timecode for live support duh :(
