Why am i not getting the reputation i'm supposed to get?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm pretty new to KSP so forgive me if my question sounds really stupid.

I am currently playing the career mode and doing a lot of contracts. These contracts show me the reputation i will receive after successfully completing said contract. But i noticed i'm only getting very little or even no reputation at all after a successful contract.

For instance, i have 939 reputation and i accepted a contract that would give me 455 reputation after completion so i would end up having 1394rep. I complete the contract but it only gave me 4 reputation bringing my total to 942.

Could someone shed some light on this?

Reputation appears to only approach 1000 asymptotically rather than linearly as far as I can tell. Although, that calls into question why we're being told that a mission "awards NNN reputation" then when it's not a fixed number like that and depends on how much you already have.

Probably for the sake of strategies that convert rep into something else. Say a mission is worth 400 rep base but your close to maxed so you only receive 4 rep. Rep to funds would be pointless if your only have 4 to convert. If you have a strategy set to turn 75% of rep into funds when you do that contract it takes 300 off the top to convert to funds and the remaining 100 goes to your rep and is probably only worth 1 point in reality. The contracts are worth that NNN reputation, its not the contract givers fault your reputation cant go any higher.
