There should be an engine nacelle-like part for seemless Mk2 and Mk3 crafts.

They should abide by the same rules as the Mk1/Small/1.25 meter engine nacelle and radial engine body. That would mean having the capability of intake air, and also a small fuel reserve.

Not disagreeing, however: bicouplers make an adequate substitute at the moment.
