Google Unveils Google Play, whats next? Google Home?

Hello everyone. For those of you who have Google Chrome, you have probably noticed the new Play New! feature. For those of you who clicked it, you discovered https://play.google.com/about/ - Google Play. It features movie rentals, games, music and books. The only thing I ask now? Is Google Cyberdyne Systems? Will they make a Google Home? Will they combine Apple\'s Siri and Google Home to make Skynet (Google Sky/Apple iSky)? This is getting quite absurd in fashion, although I\'m willing to go out and buy a Google Home/Apple iHome.

It\'s just Google establishing their own niche in the marketplace. Consider there are already plenty of other online marketplaces like this already established. Amazon.com is practically the king in this endeavour, and considering their reputation for decent service as well as diversity of product, they are going to be hard to beat.

What concerns me, is that while Google has their search engine and Chrome going for them, their lacklusterness with Google+ leaves me thinking they are starting to end up late to the party in some circles. I guess it really depends on how much Google invests in Play and how the public receives it on whether it succeeds. That is a bit of a tired line, but it is true.

Acting all paranoid like Google is going to be our world\'s version of Skynet is ridiculous. For one, Google doesn\'t have military defense contracts. Not unless they are marketing their search engine as the one source to find WMD\'s.

Frankly, the wind is starting to smell a little stale around Google at the moment. That isn\'t an atmosphere of a company set to take over the world. Not by a long shot.

The Skynet part was joke, but anyway, that is true. Its partially the Google equivalent of Itunes, as some internet commentators care to call it.

Honestly, a lot of the google stuff is simply superior to its competitors, but being late to the party as it is, customers are already entrenched and comfortable around their other marketplaces or applications.

This.

I love Google+ compared to FB. The only problem is no one is on Google+ because they\'re stuck to FB :l

Google Play! is nothing more than the Android Market and they\'re music/videos from what I can tell. This has been around for a while.

I\'ve predicted this for a while now, Google is trying to make an 'Online Operating System' so to speak. I guess you could call it a 'Cloud Operating System'

Their hardware is the Cr48 laptop, Chrome Browser, Google+ social site, youtube for user videos, google documents/powerpoints/spreadsheets/etc. , google search engine, google books, games, music, email...and all of this is connected by 1 single account.

I\'ve always thought Google was brilliant. They just need to work on their market entry timing a bit better...
