Struts disappear after moving save file to vab

Recommended Posts

I made a space shuttle and it worked fine in sph and the runway (no boosters or orange tank) but when I moved it to the vab no editing the file it was just spaghetti.

Latest ksp version.

Windows 32.

Unmodded (happens with or without mods).

It just happens to be 1,400 parts when it works and 1,800 parts with boosters in the vab.

Without more information, in this case the craft file(s) concerned as well as the other info asked for in the "Stock Support & Bug Reporting Guide" sticky thread, there is no way for anyone to give you effective help.

What sort of machine do you have that you are even contemplating trying to fly 1400+ parts, or are you willing to accept the horrible performance you will almost certainly have?

It may have to do with one of two things:

#1: Different symmetry rules in VAB vs. SPH.

#2: How the hell are you successfully using 1400 parts in 32-bit? And what sort of monster processor do you have to keep it from slowing down to a crawl?

Additionally, .craft files, and possibly logs would be useful.

It is lagging to 2 frames every 3 seconds so it isn't a monster processor, and it takes 2 minutes to load (I need a lot of clamps)

It is sized to be 8.7 metres big made of structural wings and 18 srbs made to be 3.75 m and giant orange tanks surrounding 3 wide 1.25 tanks.

I'm so ocd that I make it the same size as the real deal (It can fly just not staight, but it can when going from the runway)

It mainly is acting like a spring now that it is vertical.

A picture is worth a thousand posts. If you could show your craft in the SPH, then in the VAB.

Also, how are you transferring the craft? If you are using the sub-assembly page, there is a known problem with fuel lines and struts disconnecting themselves if you use the mod+copy function.

If you are copying it from the saves/[save name]/ships/SPH directory to the .../VAB directory, I'm not sure why it would be breaking the struts. Perhaps the pictures will tell. And maybe if you can post the .craft while you're at it.

Cheers,
