Can´t dock. Please help

Hello, I was playing at 0.24 version, got some station with docked parts at orbit. Now I have 0.25 I loaded save, made craft to dock another side of ,,my,, station, but at first dock, they got magnet effect, but were not connected. My ship had docking port on both sides so I tried the other one and its doing nothing at all, both ports are Clamp-O-Tron Docking port. I cant for god made it docked. I tried to turn off SAS while i was in dock, both ,,ships,, has electricity and fuel. I dont really know where is the problem. Please if somebody can give me some advice. Thank you

Try disabling the SAS. Sometimes that extra torque makes it hard for them to lock together.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice you already tried that. Hmm...

I also tried undock and dock again one part of station, it worked. But I cant still docked this one into station, already tried 4 docks, non worked.

Sometimes the docking ports think they are attached when they aren't. So you have to edit the save file and "reset" them. Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you, but i didnt find any line state = Disengage in my save should i continue to change dockUId, etc. ?

If you are certain that you have found the correct docking port, then yes. You can still do the remaining steps. It might not say Disengaged, but may say something else. It needs to say "Ready".

try searching for any that say "status = Acquire" - I found that sometimes they are trying to connect and the game is reloaded they still think they are trying to connect when they aren't - change that status to ready and try again.

So seems like most of ports have state = ready, I found one dock with state = Acquire, changed to Ready. And 3 dock ports have state = docked. Dont know if i should change that too. I guess i will change it and see what will happened in the game.

It WORKED !!! I changed all ,,state = Acquire,, and ,,state = Docked (docker),, to ,,state = Ready,, and i was able to dock. Somebody should post these problems and fixes on some main page. Thank you guys for advice !!!

For those of you where the above solution does not work...

a) IF you are having difficulties docking with 2xClamp-O-Tron Docking Port Sr.

IF you did not read the Wiki

then: you should read the Wiki... *facepalm* I feel sooooo stupid, and just wasted >1h getting very frustrated in the end.

The senior ports do have two sides, both of which may connect to your vessel during assembly, but only one of which will connect to another docking port.

Thought someone should mention this in this thread.

Edit: Yes, I did have two ports on my base, was able to use the other one... still, lack of symmetry, center of mass different, lost an hour... bothers me
