Multi Display Gameplay

Recommended Posts

KSP is a very involved and in-depth game. You are a program manager, flight director, and kerbanaut all in one. This is particularly evident once in a mission. The star map allows you to plot theoretical trajectories and view information on various bodies and craft; while you can control the crafts basic orientation, being able to see the craft is fairly important for establishing orbits, launch, final descent, but particularly when docking/matching orbits alongside an object.

Thus it would be useful - and pretty cool - to have a multi-display mode if your computer/laptop is connected to a second screen, to display the craft on the primary display; and to have the plotting map on the secondary display. The multi-display mode could be a 'toggle-on/off' option at the start menu when a second display is connected (also toggle-on/off in options)

Start menu:

Primary- shows menu.

Secondary- background extension.

Once a game has been started/resumed:

Primary- defaults to Radar Tracking Station on loading

Secondary- shows KSP campus

*Selecting another building on the campus map (2nd display) loads said building on the primary screen

In mission:

Primary- craft/kerbal view (can toggle to docking mode)

Secondary- space map

This would not only make controlling the mission as a whole easier, but an even more immersive experience for the player - and save time and inconvenience of flicking between screens.
