Selecting an old ship made every object in the system teleport to one place

As the title says once i selected a ship, which was orbiting the sun, it was moved far far away so i alt f4'd. After loading back into the game i noticed that the previous ships and all the question marked asteroids were no longer in their places. They instead were all in the same one space and selecting one of the ships in that bunch made everything explode.

My question would be will those asteroids ever re-spawn or maybe new ones will appear? Cause i might need to restart my career and backup my saves more often.

New unknown bodies (asteroids not yet tracked) spawn periodically, up to 7 to be visible in the tracking station; after tracking them, new ones will be spawned.

Unfortunately the only way to recover your game would be to use a previous save. No idea why you had the initial issue, could be something may be found if you still have a save from where that issue shows.
