Mobile App interest

Hi,

I've noticed that there's a mobile app that lets you control the game but it seems to be lacking in support. I was wondering if there would be any interest in having a mobile app that lets you view various in game stuff like resources on a ship etc as well as control it. If there's interest I'll be developing it in Unity for mobile devices so that it can be extended by other modders etc. Does this seem appealing?

Why should one use an inferior device to present parts of information and control a game? The screen is very small allowing, the input method is essentially only touch. A PC can do so much more: Joystick, keyboard and mouse inputs, (can) have a huge screen displaying all necessary information at once, much more powerful, etc.

I don't see a reason for a mobile app. What could it do better?

The two primary goals would be to reduce onscreen clutter by shifting information to the mobile app, and the second being offering users and alternative control mechanism.

It's not meant to make the mobile device a replacement, merely to increase input options and display space.

That's a pretty good goal, I'll investigate if it's possible.

Because a lot of us don't have two PC monitors, but do have a PC and a tablet. Using my iPad as an MFD would be handy.

I'd also like to know what kind of features people would like to see in this app. I like the way Wanderfound described it.

So far it will be a multiplatform KSP MFD(Multi-functional Display) with the following features:

- Real-time Map View

- Trigger/Buttons

- Resource screen

- Additional Camera Views

- Raster Prop Monitor MFDs

I'll update the list for now as I'll only start working on the code next week. I'll also setup a release schedule once I have a good set of features down.

What I'd like is for my iPad to be able to rapidly and easily flick between full-screens displays of all of the Raster Prop Monitor MFDs. But the map mode alone would be cool, too. Or external view when you're in IVA and vice-versa.
