holidays does not always equal the masses using their free time to take up modding?

If you live in the U.S. and your work doesn't gets busier before thanksgiving and the week after like mine did then chances are you're involved in dinners and other get togethers. This isn't true for everyone obviously but it could easily be true for enough people to explain the low turn out.

Rovers are apparently not popular?

even without being late tree in career they are fiddly to build awkward to transport, pains to drive most places and travel relatively slowly even at crash prone speeds. It could explain some people not taking interest despite the simplicity of the challenge.

We could do with some advertising?

get some streamers or youtubers to mention it or even participate, and maybe things will get better.

Isn't this what this already does just with an ever changing OP host?

Another thing that might help is if some sort of chat was set up dedicated to this. not having your words immortalized on a forum might make shyer people more willing to initially speak up and ask questions and such then we spring the trap and drag them into the open.

FWIW I didn't enter because of this, I'm not a big fan of rovers currently and rover frames aren't super inspiring. And, well, I've made plenty of stuff and it'd be unfair Mite give it a shot next time though, to help inspire people \:D/
