How to edit crew into a Hitchhiker?

So I spent over an hour bringing a crew carrier up to a space station of mine only to find when I'd finally docked that the Hitchhiker which I brought up and specifically tried to fill with exactly three crew members was empty when I arrived.

Is there a way to edit crew into the capsule without relaunching?

I may be remembering wrongly, but I think Ship Manifest lets you put crew in a capsule even if it's empty. It's kinda cheat-y (and may require its new God Mode) but it can be done.

I'm also sure you could manually edit Kerbals into the craft but I haven't done that yet....

Update as far as I can tell the mod only lets you transfer from within the same ship.

get notepad++ and open your save file, stuff reads just as easy as any other cfg file, scroll down to the right place and toss in crew - if you need example of where, make a ship on launchpad (and name it so easy find), save game, look in file for kerbal names / ship name / etc

id suggest backing up first, but as long as no typos etc its easy to change anything
