Geo synchronous orbit

Recommended Posts

I am building a power relay station for my space planes using plasma and Attila thrusters, so I waned to know at what altitude geosynchronous orbit is around Kerbin, so that my powers satellites are always aiming power at the same location. I plan to put them at intervals so that there are 5 power sats

Thanks!

Once you get up there the most accurate way to keep them stationary is to go by orbital period. Set it to 6 hours as close as you can get it. As long as your apoapsis was 2868.7 km, you should have a nearly circular orbit.

Is there a place in the stock UI that will display orbital period? Or with Kerbal Engineer or MechJeb?

^ This. I personally use Kerbal Engineer for my needs. The stock screen lacks the information required for any precision stuff in general. It is great for beginners so that they don't get overloaded with data but I would have a hard time flying any of my missions, even the most basic ones without some sort of supplement. So I strongly recommend getting MJ or KER if you want to do anything sophisticated.
