I think I may have commented previously on how spectacular this work is, thanks for all the effort you've put into it (in case that was only said previously in my imagination). I'm here today to comment that it might be nice to have an option (even one buried in a .cfg somewhere) to disable lightning (or other effects?) in map-mode (or other modes?) The mod adds a ton of realism at certain scales, but when I am in the Tracking Centre and there are dozens of strikes every second it's both distracting, and pulls me away from that immersion the features were providing. Thanks again!

SheepDog2142, I've got almost all the features running in 0.90 along with a dozen other mods... the only ones I haven't tried adding yet are the "clouds for Eve and Jool" parts. As an added bonus, I can run all this with the 32-bit version where as with 0.25 I could only get AVP going with 64-bit.

I recommend using the Active Texture Management mod on a clean install. Launch the game and let it run.

Start adding in AVP and after adding in some, launch the game again and tru the various modes, i.e. building, flying....

If it's all still working, rinse and repeat until A) it stops working, in which case undo the last thing you did, or B) you finish.

:)

WOW that is amazing looking. I cant wait for KSP 64 bit so the graphics enhancement mods can start really flowing in.

Any news on this working for .90?

As far as I know, Windows 64-bit KSP is still unsupported by anyone, including Squad, except as alpha development. Many mod authors disable their mods and refuse to have anything to do with it, as virtually every bug reported is going to be stock and thus outside their ability to fix.

I'm using this pack just fine on 32-bit with OpenGL and without ATM installed.

I'm also running into the "red sky" issue with my install, in fact, all planets with atmospheres are covered in a red haze. Has a proper solution been found yet? And I am also using ATM.

You're probably running out of RAM.

I had those problems sometimes when ATM compressed the textures and run out of RAM in this time. I compressed them on a clean install and copied the cache folder in my main install...

KSP is only using 2.8/16GB, that's well below even the 32bit usage limits. How to I force OpenGL?

Launch the program with these command line options (in a shortcut): -force-opengl -popupwindow

Hi all,

I've been reading a lot of the latest posts about Interstellar in 0.90. Although I had the same problems as a lot of others, the solutions didn't fix the issues in my case. So I thought I would share my findings as I spent hours and hours working through the issues. I hope to save other people this time. As always, the solutions were very simple! *SELF FACE-PALM*

So, I had two issues. Firstly, I had the strange situation where Kerbin would be all white with swirling red patches. This turned out to be the lightening mod. For my rig, this is the only feature that I had to remove. Frankly, as much as I love the lightening, I am just pleased that I only have to part with one feature. If you have this feature installed and you see the swirling white/red Kerbin you need to delete the file "4 Astonomer's Lightning" located in: "Gamedata>BoulderCo>Clouds" as well as the texture file "lightning" in "Gamedata>BoulderCo>Clouds>Textures". You should now see a normal Kerbin when you reload the game.

The second issue was the pink clouds, which others have had. A few ways to fix this have been mentioned, but nothing worked for me. Although these pink clouds didn't look too terrible on Kerbin and Duna, they looked hideous on Eve and Jool. I managed to match up the pink cloud pattern with the "detail1" file in "Gamedata>BoulderCo>Clouds>Textures". All I did was replace this one file with the texture "detail1" from Better Atmosphere's V5. That's it! It cured everything for me. It is noteworthy, however, that Interstellar leaves Kerbin sparse of clouds. I don't believe this to be an error, as some have suggested. So don't think anything is missing when you see less clouds.

I hope this helps some of you.

Hey guys, im running this pack as the only mods with 32bit and opengl..

But somehow antialiasing seems to be very lazy now.

It doesnt seem like it would change anything on any AA setting and it all looks like this:

Anyone else experienced it? or knows some way to tweak it?

EDIT: changed it directly in nvidia settings -> all smooth and shiny now

Anti-Aliasing isn't working in with OpenGL on 0.90. It's a Unity issue. You now have to force it on in your GPU control panel from your desktop.

Are people able to achieve this lens flare with .90? I can't seem to be able to get it working, using the "updated" version. Granted, it's only for .25.X...

I presume that is "Space Engine Hexagonal"?

Yeah ive been using the one that came with the astronomers pack on 0.90. I stuck a screenshot in below.

Hmm, okay thanks. I'm only installing certain portions, maybe that's where I've blown it. I've gone through a few times and everything looks right, though clearly I haven't got it. :/

Even if it works, it probably shouldn't. The name of the asset file containing sun_flare is changed in the 0.90, it's sharedassets9 now. And you may need to update UAE to 1.3+ because Squad inserted an audio clip link there, audio itself is stored in the ResS file; previous UAE versions can't unpack it without dropping errors. You may will break something (even if not noticeable at first sight) by overwriting sharedassets10.

Forcing opengl is getting me a box that the game tries to display in. Any ideas

Same problem with me. I fixed it sort of by turning off full screen and adding -force-opengl -popupwindow.
Switching applications then switching back usually fixes that for me. I don't think it has anything to do with this mod.

That's what I found too with -force-opengl, that small block on the lower left. First shows up black over the loading screen, then once loading is finished only it shows the greeting screen flickering. Alt-tabbing out and then back in fixes it. Turning off Fullscreen in Video Settings and adding -popupwindow with resolution same as the desktop prevents it from showing up.

The mod will crash during loading. Every. Damn. Time. This is using a fresh install with DOE, PS & TR. I run it with on OSX (I cannot force open GL) with 8GB (so I should have enough for the 4GB game). It will still crash after a reboot or when I clean the RAM. This is in 0.90.0 with none of the 0.25 stuff installed and with both all the fancy features and the bare-bones setting. This did not happen in Edge of Oblivion. Yeh...

I haven't been on Kerbal for about 3-4 weeks so I double checked this morning, sun flares definitely working, another Kerbin mystery lol. Ill probably come across a career ending bug or some other disaster at some point then.

I couldn't get this to run when it was first released as well, I tried chopping loads of unused parts from all my other installed mods which still didn't help. I finally sorted it by using active texture manager and lowering all the texture sizes in the pack.

Kerbal starts to die around 3.3-3.4gb if i remember correct, so having 8gb doesnt really matter. I would try active texture manager first and see if it helps, if not lower the textures and try. I have about 30 mods on now and it sits at a steady 2.8gb usage and haven't had a crash since.

Hey guys, me again! I tried ATM aggressive with interesting results. I tried them with and without clouds. I have put them in this beautiful Imgur album for all to enjoy.

Warning: May contain traces of self error.

TL;DR: I think I screwed something up horribly.

P.S. This is without all of the extras and with the foremost mentioned add-on: ATM aggresive.

Edit: The pink clouds are now starting to grow on me.

For those who have issues about crashing in loading screen/wrong cloud textures, try running stock KSP with ATM in OpenGL mode once THEN run it again with this mod installed (OpenGL also), fixed the overflow/bad cache problem. After that you can play the game in d3d9/11 and so far I have not encountered a problem so far.
