Life Size Space Shuttle

My desktop (with shadowplay) is out of commission due to a lack of a wireless network adapter. I'll have to find a way to make a video without murdering my laptop.

The shuttle scares me - not because of the lag, but that it will fail somewhere in flight and I have to go through trial and error once again I almost had a mental breakdown after a solid weekend of failures 30 minutes into the flight.

She is pretty tho

Yes, I know But there's not really any way I can do that - it's just so big. The orbiter is some 900 parts, and it needs all of them to stay in once piece. I'm surprised actually that the thing is only 1300 parts.

One thing that might help is to delete all the struts in Blender. Could take a while though.

The boosters are individual* objects. Next is the main tank and orbiter.

*They're parented to the same part.

how are you doing the light scources? Im just getting monotone black.

They were there when I opened the kspblenderdemo.blend file, do you not have them?

I did but i deleted them - they kept getting in the shot I tried moving them but they wouldn't select.

im going to release the model version of the shuttle soon (no struts, fuel lines, or clamps) if anyone wants to mess around with it. I'm also planning to try and get a model ready so I can 3d- print it

I've heard that 3d printing has trouble with intersecting geometry like a heavily clipped craft would have. Any thoughts on that?
