Staging bug

Recommended Posts

I have two decouplers in the same stage, but they act as if one is in a separate stage, meaning only one decouples when I hit space, and I need to hit space again for the other one to come off. A KSP restart did nothing for it, the bug still persisted. This seemed to only happen recently, since all craft I have made that use decouplers before today work fine. If it means anything; when I initially put the rockets on the decouplers, they went on the outside of one decoupler, and on the opposite side of the same decoupler, with none on the other decoupler. Even though I didn't change from 2X symmetry I used to place the decouplers themselves. A quick reload of the craft made them properly symmetrical, but this is when the bug started.

(I would post screenshots, but it says down the bottom I don't have adequate permission)

Sorry to say that you've run into a bug that quite a few of us have experienced but doesn't seem to have a single cause.

I was discussing this bug with a couple of peeps and it turned out we were all using different mods.

If it's any help, in my case it was caused by an out of date version of the Stock Bugfix modules conflicting with another mod.

Kerbquake and Kerbal Joint Reinforcement have also been associated with this bug but no-one has managed to figure out what's causing it.

Ok, I will remove KerbQuake and see if that does anything for it, if not, I'll remove the Stock Bugfix mod, and if it still persists, I'll say here.

Just to clarify, downloading the latest version of the Stock Bugfix modules fixed the problem for me, but others have reported that it didn't help them.

Thanks! Removing KerbQuake fixed it. Strange how an IVA enhancement mod can affect something totally unrelated.

Good to know, you may want to let the mod makers know, Just checking it seems it's already been reported on this thread but it might be a good idea to let the mod makers know anyway.
