QUESTION: RSS at Launch of KSP

I recently tested around a little with RSS.

And although i will refuse to go all the way, for two reasons: A lot of part mods needed to improve the stock scale and efficiency. And even on 6.4 the terrain gets stretched beyond recognition.

But i kinda liked the scale of 3.2x Kerbin Scale, but the question is: Does a reconfigured RSS need this progress bar every single time when starting up KSP (the one in the main menu) to modify the planets? It does require quite some time every launch

As far as I know, yes, RSS requires that every time. Its not to that hard to bear, especially if you run KSP in windowed mode (just switch to the internet browser for some time on the forums!). Also, if you plan on doing lots of small sessions in a day, just let KSP run. However, we'll have to get NathanKell here for any confirmation on the progress bar.

Yes, Squad doesn't have KSP open enough to allow that, the way most mods work is we have to let Squad's code do its thing and then undo it and redo it the way we want it. Same for this.

As for the stretched terrain... Check out pingopete's work. And be sure to have a change of underwear lying around.
