  1. 1. Should the compressed air engines be given a way to work in space?

    • No, they shoild be atmosphere ONLY
      9
    • Add IntakeAtm tanks, and hope people don't abuse them
      0
    • Add IntakeAtm tanks and make MM patches that gives other Atm engines an ISP of 0 in space
      2
    • Yes, but make them use their own resource (compressedAtm) to avoid exploits

Hi there! I made a mod! It does things! Here is what it does.

Parts added:

Compressed Air Engine:

A simple engine that compresses filtered air using electricity, and exhausts it out a tiny nozzle. It has many different uses. Now, we don't quite know what those uses are, so if you find out what those are, be sure to tell us.

Advanced Compressed Air Engine:

"Like Compressed Air Engine with Advanced!" -Machinima

The ACA engine runs off a mix of filtered air, monoprop, and electricty. The "brilliant minds" behind this engine said that it needs monoprop because "It would be 'OP' if it was just flat out better than the basic compressed air engine", whatever that means. An unintended sideffect of this is that it makes the air compress better, so yay?

Nuclear Thermal Ramjet:

Okay, its actually more like a scramjet, our engineers thought that ramjet sounded cooler. Anyways, this state of the art uses filtered air, heats it up to 'like a gazillion degrees' using a nuclear heating system, then exhausts it out the back. It needs to be moving pretty darn fast before it produces much thrust. Also, it LOVES to overheat. Also, it can only throttle down to 75% of full thrust. Good luck!

Advanced Hybrid Engine Precooler:

When one of our engineers was trying to solve the problem of how to make the Nuclear Ramjet less explode-y during his lunch break, he found out that his food was a bit to hot, so he blew on it to cool it down. This gave him the idea to "Blow really hard on the engine" to cool it down. No one could take him seriously due to how he had phrased his proposal, so, instead he just made a really fast fan, hooked it up to a fridge, then stuck it in an aerodynamic case. Also, it seems that it cools more efficiently when it moves faster. That engineer's idea wasn't completely full of hot air.

Deoxygenizer:

Turns IntakeAir into IntakeAtm.

Advanced Deoxygenizer:

Now with 25% less resource wasting! (turns IntakeAir into IntakeAtm AND oxidizer)

Reoxygenizer:

IntakeAtm and oxidizer goes in, IntakeAir comes out. You can't explain that! (Its okay, neither can we.)

Wait a sec... was that nuke engine getting too hot during the lunch break, or was the kerbal thinking about it during his lunch break? Honestly, that description could go both ways in that area. Maybe it was getting too hot because they forgot to turn it off during lunch. Just sayin'...

But if they turn it off, then how are they supposed to cook their food?

  • 5 months later...

INTEREST CHECK.

With 1.0 Aero engine overhaul, there are a bunch of new possibilities for this mod. I was wondering if anyone would be interested if this mod was updated. ALSO, would anyone care for a set of miniaturized Resource mining and processing parts?
