More than 2x symmetry in the SPH causes game crash

Recommended Posts

KSP Version: v0.90.0 Beta Ubuntu 14.04 64bit

What Happens: Game crashes when it automatically switches to anything MORE than 2x symmetry in the SPH.

Mods / Add-Ons: All stock

Steps to Replicate:

1) Place TVR-400L Quad-Adapter (or similar part) in SPH

2) Select 2x symetry and take the Turbojet Engine.

3) Attempt to attach to the Adapter

Result: Game Crashes without crashlog or any sort of warning/message appearing.

Fixes/Workarounds: Unknown

Other Notes/Pictures/Log Files:

- Just before crashing you can observe the symmetry switching to 4x (or whichever) mode and 4 (or however many) engines appearing in the staging.

- Seems to only happen with the Turbojet engine.

- Doesn't happen in the VAB

Hmm, maybe the symmetry mode thing is still broken, try pressing "R" a few times, it swaps between radial and mirror now.

ERROR: Animation index 8 is out of bounds!

Yeah this looks like it, use shift+x to reduce symmetry so you don't crash.

Just tried what you suggested. It works fine in radial symmetry (the one that used to be VAB only). Also using the SABIER engine and mirror symmetry causes crashing too. I'm going to bed now but I'll test other parts tomorrow.
