Research bug?

Recommended Posts

just trying to play .90 and loving it so far! the only problem i have is that the blue research button doesn't show up when i select the basic rocketry tech. i tried to see if it was just my game and checked the science tutorial, but it wasn't there either. i deleted all local content and reloaded it fresh with no mods, and in career mode, science mode, and the science tutorial i am unable to see the blue research button, or research anything. i am running it off steam with a 64 bit windows 7, but running it in 32 bit mode. Any one else seen this or know of a fix?

EDIT 1- tried another fresh install after deleting all file folders and still no luck. where the research button should be, it still says "Start Required". completely unmodded right now, so really not sure. the save file says;

SCENARIO {

name = ResearchAndDevelopment

scene = 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

sci = 5

Tech

{

id = start

state = Available

part = mk1pod

part = liquidEngine

part = solidBooster

part = fuelTankSmall

part = trussPiece1x

part = longAntenna

part = parachuteSingle

}

Science

{

id = recovery@KerbinFlew

title = Recovery of a vessel that survived a flight.

dsc = 1

scv = 0.1666667

sbv = 5

sci = 5

cap = 6

}

}

so i think thats correct? not sure. any help is greatly appreciated!

This is usually caused by having the game's resolution set too low. For some reason it causes that really wide button to completely disappear.

See if you can bump up your resolution a notch and give that a try.

and Welcome to the Forums! :D

What is your computer's resolution set to? The screen shots do not look like I would expect with the resolutions you listed. In fact, the two screenshots look identical in resolution. I suspect your computer monitor is set to something less, and KSP might be detecting that and bumping down the game resolution.
