Problem with Satelite contract

Recommended Posts

It sounds as though your craft may not meet all the requirements for the contract. Can you take a screenshot of the contract details? There has been a bit of confusion over what some of the requirements are supposed to mean, IIRC.

I don't think you all understand what im saying. i will try to take screen shots for you but it doesn't seem like it will help. i will try to explain it again.

1) I accept contract to put satelite in specific orbit.

2) If i then go to tracking station after the contract is accepted it shows the path that i am supposed to match.

3) I then build ship with required elements.

4) I go back to tracking station to check desired orbit again.

5) I launch probe.

6) When i get into space i go to the solar system view and the path for the satellite is no longer there nor is the contract listed in my contract window. its as if i never accepted it. it shows up before i launch but not after i launch.

on another note... in recreating the situation, i have found that before launch (with the required path being shown in tracking) the contract is not listed in the active section of the contracts menu.

Do you have a log? That would help us deduce the issue much faster.

i do not have a log...

however i have something else to add... was playing again and the same thing happened hen i loaded up the save. then i noticed that even though there was a trajectory for the satellite on the tracking station the contract was still in the "available" tab. so i accepted it and completed the mission. is it possible that the trajectory is showing before you accept it when it is "available"? that may be what is going on. i noticed the survey contracts do that.

That makes sense. Yes, in the Tracking Station, all 'available' contracts display their mission paths or waypoints. I believe this is intended to let the player determine whether the contract's requirements are achievable for them before they accept the contract. :)

It can be a little confusing, though. Perhaps they ought to show up in a slightly different way to already-accepted contracts.

You can differentiate, however not at first sight. If you hover the mouse over the orbits markers, for example the apoapsis marker, it will display the altitude and the agency, then the color of the text I think determines if its accepted or only available (green-yellowish for accepted, orange for available).
