Impossible Contract?

I accepted a temperature scans of Minmus contract, which included two surface measurements and two measurements in flight above a certain altitude. I was under the impression that temperature scans were not possible above the surface of bodies lacking an atmosphere, but I thought maybe something had changed in 0.90. Is this contract impossible? Should I complete the surface measurements before canceling the contract?

That contract is perfectly doable. Thermometers don't work high in orbit. Low in orbit (I forget the exact altitude) works fine This isn't new to 0.90 either.

EDIT: Worth mentioning: there is a small bug where you can't use a thermometer after trying to use it in high orbit, but switching ships / going back to the space center fixes that.

Ah, thanks. I think this bug is my problem. I tried at a higher altitude, and when I lowered my altitude, there was no option to log temp data. I will try this and see if it works.

No problem Also, if you bind an action group to the "log temperature" button, that will still work after trying to use it at high altitude. Obviously that's not helpful early game in career though.
