The R.A.P.I.E.R. engine has been nerfed

The max thrust of jet mode has been reduced from 190 kn to 100 kn. Rocket mode max thrust remains at 175 kn.

Lol, was about to say that I perhaps used the (stock) r.a.p.i.e.r, twice. The fact that it is not strong enough (I mean a ramjet is better in atmos, and many rockets are better in space)

If they nerfed it, would be no reason to use at all. If anything, it's performances needs to be improved to be top notch atmos ISP and great space ISP to be a serious contender (put it farther in tech tree if you want). Does give me a part to modify tho, once "adjusted" it becomes awesome

What made me laugh is that Blind Dead McJones has an avatar with a terrified Kerbal. I imagined the little green guy, mid-flight, discovering his RAPIER had been nerfed.

Also in stock, turbos can get you up to ludicrously large fractions of orbital velocity, and then you can just use NERVAs or even ions to hop around the system.

I use it to launch probes. Just a FL-T100 tank of fuel can get you 2/3rds to orbit.
