Well, what\'s scary is that it doesn\'t have to be religious to make such claims.

What\'s ironic is that their using scientific methodology to prove religion.

A lot of people often think that if religion was gone and science was the one 'truth' then all these irrational wars would stop.

I tend to think that people and videos like this show that religion is just a medium for their irrational thoughts (I am not saying religion is irrational), and if you took religion away, we\'d get a lot more people like this; using science as a medium for irrational/incomplete thoughts. Eventually resulting in similar debates or conflicts.

At least until they try to develop nuclear bombs by their logic and fail miserably.

To be fair though, I don\'t just want to dismiss his video only by thinking 'he\'s an idiot'.

What causes helicopters to remain stationary while lifting off from a moving object?

Obviously the helicopter starts off with the same momentum, but then rather quickly becomes stationary (relative to Earth).

Is it simple air resistance, or do the rotating wings create angular momentum that overpowers it\'s linear momentum?

I\'m leaning for the spinning wings, since obviously you and I don\'t immediately become stationary if we were to jump off a moving car >_>

There\'s crazy people on both sides of that argument. There\'s those who believe that we\'re going to warm up so much that all water is going to disappear, and there\'s those who absolutely deny any sort of climate change. I know that there is global warming, but I don\'t believe it\'s going to be an issue, nor does humanity need to freak out about the miniscule carbon emissions we create, compared to a smoldering volcano.

Sorry but I just had to chime in here...

Actually, the amount of CO2 released from ALL volcanoes on Earth (both on land and under the sea) is estimated to be on average around 200 million tonnes per year. The total CO2 released by human activity in 2003 was estimated at around 27 BILLION tonnes per year, which means that ALL THE VOLCANOES on the planet release less then 1% of the CO2 that we put into our atmosphere. it DOESNT MATTER whether the humans are responsible for warming the planet yes/no. Because can we do something about it (realistically) if yes/no? no. Can we waste resources and efforts trying to reduce the growth of CO2 emissions (yes, reducing the growth *facepalm*) while those resources and efforts could be utilized developing coping methods for a warmer/fossil-fuel-less world? hell the fuck yes. Should we? rather not.

I see it as this:

Conventional energy is ugly and the smoke is terrible

It\'s cheaper in the long run

It preserves the Earth\'s resources

oh yeah im not saying dont develop new power, by all means please. (just as you say, the stuff is finite and the smoke IS nasty, just not because of the co2). It\'s just most \'oh my god we\'re all gonna die because of CO2 here\'s an extra tax and a break for solar\'-policies do more harm than good. It\'s basically government deciding what developments will pay off, which is not something that can be decided. Sponsoring one alternative is effectively hampering another. The choice is hardly ever founded in science however.

I\'ve given up on the climate change battle. Personally I believe it\'s affecting it. You\'re crazy to say Carbon Dioxide has no effect, most people don\'t think that though. It\'s a matter of if we have a large enough impact or not.

But anyway, I argue more for the fact that Renewable energy (solar, hydrogen, etc etc) is cleaner, less smog and far less pollutants, and is far cheaper and efficient.

If they dispute the cheaper/efficient part I tell them this:

A man puts a solar panel is his backyard, maintains it every so often and keeps it clean.

He gets energy back into his house.

A team of geologists go out, explore new territory using their internal combustion engines in cars, helicopters and what not.

Then oil riggers bring out their entire setup thousands of miles, setup, employ workers and begin mining and then pumping oil out of the ground.

The oil is then packaged by more works and shipped thousands of more miles by ship (using more fossil fuels) to a port, where it is unloaded, packed into trucks who then drive to refineries.

The refineries unload it into massive oil containers on their real-estate that they pay for.

Hydrogen, previously made by electrolysis probably stemming from some sort of fossil fuel power plant, is then used to Hydrocrack the crude oil into refined oil/gasoline.

The gasoline is then repackaged, transported by trucks to your local gas station.

Then you drive to the gas station, PAY for the gas, put it in your car and burn it.

I say that and wonder how there\'s even an energy profit in the business.

No, pipelines are a complex transportation system used by secret agents, world destruction scientists, slave traders and other US and EU gov parts that don\'t exist officially and some people who have the money and relations to use them, including oil industry. That\'s why sometimes oil runs out of them and terrorists like to blow them up.

That is a problem, and yes, I know that the cells in a human body don\'t reproduce in 24 hours. Skin cells do it in 3 days, so do the cells in the stomach, but the reason for forcing all of the cells to do this is to reduce the need on anesectic, as being on anesectic for that longer would be detremental to the bodys well being. There is a heap of problems with this idea, but its the best one I have at the moment.
