TotalBiscuit recomends KSP

To be completely honest though, there are a LOT of crappy early access games out there which are overpriced (both in planned final and current asking) and way less stable than they should be, even for E.A. (early access, not electronic arts, who we all hate) Kerbal Space Program and Space Engineers are two of the really good ones out there which I have had nothing but positive to say about (SE multiplayer is semi-unstable at times but that is not the game's main focus right now).

Ahem... getting back on topic. ;)

Yeah, I think "early access" in general is a bit of a marketing experiment, but KSP is one of the ones that handles it really well. Sometimes it's best to lead by example, and other games may live and die based on how well they can do it in comparison to the ones who have succeeded.

KSP has been the best alpha purchase I've made. In fact I think I've logged more time in KSP than in all my other steam games. I think the only other early access game I really enjoyed was Air Mech, and that is largely because I loved Hertzog Zwei back on Sega Genesis as a kid, so that game got a huge nostalgia bonus.
