You might want to look at agises's Voiced alerts via Windows text to speech. It's a bit dated, but there may be a way to resurrect it.

In case you were wondering what SAM was, it was a program for Windows XP which is now replaced by other programs.

Would make craft alerts and other stuff nice.

Man, if all the orange alerts (centered, top of screen) were processed by a voice synthetizer, it would be real nice.

Anyway, that would be a great idea, as long as it had some kind of device that detected ear-killers so it could kick the people off the thing, and it also had multiplayer.
