Persistence, quicksaves, settings general gameplay instructions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Would there be such a thing as a readme or a guide on how to do things like edit persistence or quicksaves or even how to optimise settings, keyboard shortcuts etc...? I don\'t believe I have come across any total bundle of information like that. If anyone knows where to look for that information can you please post a link. If there isn\'t such a set of instructions does anyone know if there are any plans to compile one? I\'ve seen bits & pieces scattered over various topics, so I think it would be a good idea to be able to find a detailed set in one place. I think especially for new players something like that would be handy.

cheers

Well, there is this thread:

http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=8814.0

which tells everything you need to know to edit the .sfs files and a little bit about editing .craft files too.

I haven\'t seen anything about setting keyboard shortcuts. There is another thread, which I can\'t find, about editing something to optimize the graphics settings for this version. But that info might change with the very next patch.

Since KSP is still in heavy development, features and things keep changing. They could waste a lot of time making proper documentation, just to make it obsolete as soon as they get back to work.

Cheers thanks for the link I\'ll definitely try that out. As far as the guide goes I sort of knew deep inside that we would have to wait for the full release, just thought there may be some sort of interim 'manual'.

Most of the default controls are here. The main thing it neglects is using the numpad period to toggle the navball\'s visibility. Also, you can change the navball\'s reference frame (surface/orbit) by clicking on the title.

Thanks also UmbralRaptor much appreciated :)
