Nice double decker design. runmug and Jetenginestar are correct though, you need to use the rotate tool and fix up your wings for a proper 747 sweep. Good luck!

You and Naito have inspired me to design and fly my own space shuttle, large cargo bay class, capable of flights being totally empty, or totally full meeting the STS: Orange Tank to Orbit challenge with a full Heavy Payload Plus of an full orange tank and full large yellow rcs tank with hardware.

This may be a newby question, but whenever I disengage the shuttle from the aircraft I lose all of my stages and the camera stays with the aircraft while the shuttle slowly slides back into the tail. This feels like something stupid but nothing seems to work (controling from ship, Loading kerbals into ship).

anyway, any help is appreciated thanks.

Weird, I honestly never intended the shuttle to be separated while in flight. I built it like the 747 transporter that brought them to their museum 'graves.' In my testing of actually doing the separation, I am able to control the 747 and have flown tailless for a bit lol. Maybe mods or something?

Go for it! Although the shuttle will destroy the plane if you release it lol.

Thanks... Since the focus of the series is on the shuttle aspect, I will probably only have TWO kerbals in the shuttle itself and just allow the "loss" of the carrier ship to occur. However, It will be seen again in other rounds of testing. BTW, could you make a small edited version with the space shuttle having a tail cone to go with it?

Just bracket switch to the carrier after the drop to gain control and fly it up and away safely and then switch back to the shuttle. No need to sacrifice Kerbals. :)

Who said anything about sacrificing Kerbals, the only 2 on board would be in the orbiter!

I think you meant me because runmug didn't say anything about wing sweep?
