goldenpeach
Hi!When I was a child I remember me enjoying a series of novel for children, however, I can't remember what was the name of the series. So, I only remember two novel of that series (and a few details from the characters). The main characters (two girls) lived in a farm with their parents and their farm animals(to which they could talk). That's about all I can remember about the contextso, here are those two novel:1) the first one was about the two main characters who had to do an math exercise for school. The exercise was something like: "in the municipal forest, there is x oak per acre, y [another type of wood, can't think of another one right now] per hectare. the forest is z hectare. How much oak and [other type of wood] is there in the forest."They found that exercise very difficult because of the conversion between acre and hectares.Even if all the farm animals helped them, the solution wasn't found. So, they decided to do something simpler(I'm being sarcastic here): simply go in their municipal forest and count the trees(simple, isn't it?).They did that, backed with other animals(if I recall correctly) and found the "solution"The next day, all the farm animal went to school to see the result of the problem, because they was proud. BUT, as you can guess, they didn't found the correct solution. The animals weren't happy, and a chicken said that, because the exercise weren't corresponding to something real, it wasn't valable. An inspector was passing nearby to... inspect and said that the girls(and the animals) was right. Now, here's the second novel(I dont remember a lot of details)2)the two girls imagine, before going to sleep, how cool it would be to be a horse(I think it was after a argument with their parents, but I'm not sure). The next day, after they slept they discover they became horses during the night.During the novel, the parents have less and less money(they have to buy the food for their children) so they start selling the farm animals. At the end, I remember that the two girls forgot how to talk because they didn't talked enough. Also, their parents sale them(I think they was separated but I'm not sure at all about that).EDIT:I just remembered that, after being sold, they woke up in their bed without being horses. If you went trough this text, I want to thank you. Seriously, it's not very short.Thank you again!please, help me! This ticked for too long! Edited January 15, 2015 by goldenpeach

goldenpeach
Just a little note to say that I found the answer! How did I found it?well... I remembered that an exctract was in one of my book I used for school(for french class). I was desperate enough to go trought all the exercises to find that exctract and read the copyright footnote at the end of the said exercise. gmpd2000
You should ask for a moderator to close this or change the title to say that this is solved.Or else this will confuse people.
