skipped rendering frame because gfx device is in invalid state (device lost)

Recommended Posts

My components are all AMD, I'm playing the game in 32 bit on Windows 8.1

Not really sure what is going on here or what caused the crash.

The game starts and loads fine but I can't load my save or start any new games. When I try to load my game it says "Just started" on it (even though I have more than 40 hours on this save), I click continue and nothing happens.

If I try to start a new save the screen just grays out and nothing happens.

Has anyone seen this before? I've looked online and the only thing I came across was this happens in Unity when trying to run multi-threaded or 64x, neither of which I am doing.

This happened after reentry at Kerbin (coming back from Eve), I ditched the transfer stage and splashed down in the ocean with three remaining parts. A novapunch capsule (the black one with two crew members) a procedural heatshield (dropped right before splashdown) and a single Novapunch 1.25m inline parachute. After splashdown I clicked on Recover and the whole screen went black.

If you play KSP in fullscreen mode, and alt-tab out of it, you get those messages, one for every frame it was not the foreground app.

If you plan to alt-tab out, consider running KSP in a borderless window: set the resolution in KSP to your desktop resolution, turn Fullscreen mode off, and launch KSP with the argument -popupwindow

That's interesting.

I wasn't trying to tab out when the crash happened, and now I cannot seem to get my save to load again.

I may have left the game tabbed for some time previous to coming back to it and finishing my mission, but I wasn't tabbed or trying to do so at that time.

Do you know how I would go about trying to fix my save so I can continue playing?
