Yet another planet idea!

Souper

Recommended Posts

Name: Saggy

Surface gravity: 8.7 m/s at highlands, 299,792,458 m/s at the lowest point. (there's a pit that takes 1/30th of Saggy's surface area that goes all the way to the core)

Mass: Twice as kerbin.

Radius: Unknown. That's up to the modders who'll make this.

Moons: 5 possible dwarf moons, 1 massive moon 2x larger than the mun.

Distance from Kerbol: In-between Dres and Duna.

*8.7 m/s^2, 299,792,458 m/s^2, I assume you meant

Camacha, I think he means that the hole will go so close to the center of mass that the gravity will be noticeably different, although I don't think KSP's engine will appreciate such an outrageous fib. I'm pretty sure it calculates gravity more or less correctly/accurately, and that is hilariously unrealistic.

I don't think such a planet is possible, even in the limits of KSP. That sounds more like black hole gravity than anything, and having a black hole anywhere in the Kerbol system would be a complete nightmare.

I meant that kind of gravity would be attained by a very deep mohole-like pit, only 1 or 2 kilometers wide that went so close to the center of gravity the acceleration would be 299,792,458 m/s. You see, KSP models gravity based on:

1. How massive a planet is

2. How close you are to the center

With that, this planet is very, very VERY possible indeed! :)
