Operation Ground Pound. (Sequel to Op Return to Sender) (pics: soon) (game: Coming Soon)

Man I'm having some trouble making a good long range heavy bomber. I prefer to do replicas . . . so I was trying for the B2 since we're dodging radar and what not but I just can't get it to function well enough.

Why not go with the original radar avoiding bomber... the B1B Lancer!

I attempted it as well with less than desirable results. I moved the fuel pods under the wings of the F22 and added the 2 allowed rocket pods inside the weapons bay . . . I would imagine it will get the job now.

I tested some designs a while ago, and I made drop tanks with Procedural Tanks that work for most of my aircraft designs.

Now does rover with anti-grav repulsors counts as ground vehicle or air vehicle?

If you use the anti-grav as landing gear and fly higher than what they normaly travel as then yes it is ok. However if your only source of lift is from the anti-grav repulsors then it is still counted as a land based craft. As the anti-grav repulsors are an advanced type of wheel if i remember how Lo-fi made em, but they have zero torque so you can't use em to move about. Unless War Eagle sees them as different I'd only use em as landing wheels.

I've used them before in a few craft and even got air-borne with just the thrust from the pusher engines before, I see them as a ground based movement type. However you can use the G-drive mod as they is flying as there is no limit as to how high you can go with it unlike how high an Anti-grave repulsor can go.

Again this is only how i feel, and until War Eagle says over-wise take my comment as just my opinion.

Damn!

I had an FA-18 Replica, almost to the exact same scale in my last install, but the save is bugging out with nullref's. Would have been perfect for this.

Though i probably wont be able to use it, ill see if i can find some pics of it. (It even had the weapon and droptank loadout built to be the exact same as IRL too. Nosemounted vulcan, wingtip mounter Aim-120's/Aim-9's and all.)

Hey y'all. Im back.

I saw on BD thread that it will take longer than expected to update armory so I might try to make the challenge some time this week. Stay tuned

I would consider it a ground vehicle. So for this challenge I won't allow it.

I do however already have an idea for my third challenge that will use ground vehicles. BUT for this one, don't use it.

Out.

Standing.

-- EDIT --

Just a thought . . . if I send a craft over the designated area at something like 24km to take pictures as a recon for video purposes . . . nothing to do with the actual attack . . . will that be grounds for disqualification?

I don't see why you would considering I'm going to provide pictures of your targets

At 24km altitude you aren't going to get a lot of pictures. Seeing as nothing on the ground will render for you.

Although it would be fun to re-create the Cuban Missile Crisis recon flight by that brave F-8 Crusader recon pilot. He stayed low and fast and got a lot of good pictures.

For the video. I want to send the SR-71 out first but I wasn't thinking about the rendering . . . might have to be some trick photography.

Aww gotcha. Well if it's a separate aircraft and you're only doing it video purposes then I suppose you can. However the craft you do the mission with must follow the rules

Hit CTRL+ um b i think and you can extend the loading range (buggy as heck though) I have tested it with a 50km range for my MLRS missile testing firing at targets from the runway of KSP with my MLRS creations and custom BDArmory hellfire missiles. For a recon flight, I recommend trying it at 10 to 20 km first as there is a bug that once you load into the modified loading range nearby craft SUDDENLY speed up to your current speed witch would end the mission before you even started the recon run.

HOWEVER If you are able to pull it off i think it will look absolutely awesome!

The mach 4+ ground vehicles would be equally awesome!

Hey everyone…sorry I haven't posted lately. Ive been busy with college stuff (Senior year and what not). I know y'all are looking forward to this challenge but I will get it out Lord Willing.

No rush, I have been busy with so much myself I almost forgot about this challenge. Real life comes first and college comes before that. Good luck and don't worry about this challenge.
