Is docking like this possible?

Ok, so I sent my first interplanetary manned landing mission to Duna. Yay, although there's one problem. I have a very low fuel suply on the craft. Also, it didn't have a docking port. So here's my question; can I send up a rescue mission with a claw, grab the spacecraft, put some fuel in it, and do the rest of the mission as planned?

I know you can transfer fuel from a craft that is grabbed by the claw, but you'll have to test if it can be done both ways on the ground at Kerbin.

'Can be exchanged with the target' sounds like it works. I will try it out in my Sandbox save, give me a second.

I think your plan will work, however beware, the Kraken loves his Klaw...

Use Kerbal Attachment System mod (KAS) - it will make your life much easier.

It will work. Two vessels joined by a claw are treated exactly the same as two vessels docked together with docking ports.

Just be careful that the vessel with the claw is the one you're controlling when the connection is made, bad things happen otherwise.

Also make sure your vessel is the only one with an active claw (not a problem in this case, but in the future). More Kraken bait gets thrown in the water if you don't.

Gom, you can build a neat base onto an asteroid by attaching all the components to the asteroid with claws. Whatever magic it is that tunnels fuel, electricity, and now Kerbals, through various parts of the ship, works through an asteroid as well.

My guess is that the base of the Klaw is filled with hundreds of tiny knomes that pour out into the asteroid when the klaw activates and dig networks of tunnels through the rock so that resources and kerbals can be transferred.

Yeah. 5th Horseman has a neat video where he attaches wings, a tail, and wheels to an asteroid with claws and proceeds to land it on Kerbin. Attaching to something with a claw makes it part of your ship.
