The Exploded View, an altogether less attached airplane.

Recommended Posts

Discussions on part clipping invariably turn to the limits of the offset tool, and I believe those limits should be disabled, as it'd make things easier to build ;)

For your enjoyment and horror, here's a little plane I made using the rotate and offset gizmos, the Exploded View...

It flies pretty well, and I like disabling the limits :D

Agree.

Been frustrated with limits. Have had to get creative or compromise.

Once saw a vid a guy offset 5 aircraft for formation flying on takeoff. Sweet.

Sal, with that kind of plane, it'd be a bit difficult to shoot it down though. heh. I can already imagine a missile flying between the wing and fuselage and the MP player crying foul play.

I actually would like some cheat tool for it, not to "cheat" with it or whatever you want to call it, but because of the buginess of certain parts. The Mk3 cargo bays, for example, move everything out of whack when you try the offset gizmo on any part attached to them in the inside. And sometimes on the outside too, just for kicks. Makes building something with them that doesn't have a gap, actually difficult.

Rune. You obviously use field technology like the Culture, just have them set to transparent to the visible spectrum. Either that, or a General Products hull...
