Use OS-native file managers

I get frustrated managing my craft and opening their saves in the SPH/VAB. I can't sort by date and can only open files from the one location.

So, why not just let the "open" dialogue be managed by file manager (or equivalent on non-windows platforms)?

Then I could see the craft by date etc and also open craft elsewhere, such as in other saves or my download folder.

Opportunity for a mod (if it doesn't already exist)?

It doesn't need to be the native file manager, just the option to create and explore subfolders in the craft folder will help

Also needed are "save before exiting" and "overwrite filename" warnings.

I know it's not really the same but it's related enough to using the native file interfaces that I didn't want to start a new thread for it.

I second the need for a "save before exiting" warning, and would also like a "save before launch" warning, because the launch button is dangerously close to the save button. Several times I've reached for the save button but hit launch by mistake... the craft launches, I try to revert to vehicle assembly, and the game freezes up.
