Explosion shockwaves

Hello people.

As we all know, explosions in KSP are cool visually, but they have almost no effect on the gameplay itself save obfuscating your view. I think it would be great if explosions generated shockwaves proportional to the size of explosions, which would push things away in a certain within a certain radius, maybe loosen a part or two sometimes. Because I know next to nothing about making KSP mods and I didn't find anything relevant on Google, I would like if somebody could make a simple mod to do the job. It would be appreciated.

I agree, exploding part gives no impulse whatsoever to it's neighbors, it is kinda dull.

IRL one of the leading versions of recent "Progress" ship malfunction is an explosion of third stage fuel tank located on top of the stage. This explosion presumably sent the ship prograde and the rest of the third stage retrograde, setting 30km difference in apoapsis between them.

I haven't seen any mods, but I agree this would be awesome and would add some more realism. I'd be surprised if someone hasn't made a mod that does this.

Now who would be crazy (and awesome) enough to code this? ;)

Dammit, Russia, you need a shock absorber on the back of your ship to try to play the Orion game

If you want shockwaves, then you better remove explosions from non-explosive parts. This mod would become a huge amount of work that ends up in a laggy mess even if it worked perfectly.

There was a mod called CIT BAM. Not sure it works on 1.x, but it tuned the explosions to the ammount of explosiveness the part should actually have, including how much fuel is inside.
