The Number War: Count to 100 or -100

Attention all players:

There has been an update to the rules, first post has been updated. They are in effect as of the time of this post.

Rule 4 and 5 have been combined together, as they should have been. Now the current rule 4 states:

4. You can express the addition or subtraction process in anyway you like. You can express the current number however you like. Be it in words, numbers, mathematical expressions, a story, whatever. However, your expression in your post, whether it is explicit or implicit, must clearly and correctly state the operation you have done (adding or subtracting) and the current number.

+ "Clearly" here means it must be clear to any reader, without context, to understand reasonably what operation you are doing to the number and what the current number is. If a message can be interpreted in multiple ways and is not clarified by the poster, it is nulled to avoid confusion. There must only be one interpretation possible.

+ "Correctly" here means your expression must truthfully represent the operation you did to the number and what the current number is. You cannot misinform other people of the current number and the operation you did to the number.

This rule now address the expression of the current number and the operation that has been done to it together, along with defining what "clearly" and "correctly" means.

The old rule 5 has been replaced with a new one:

In cases where a message cannot be reasonably interpreted any other way from the context and information available, it cannot be considered to have multiple interpretations. The game will continue assuming the available obvious interpretation of the post despite what the original poster meant it to be.

This is to prevent cases where post with extremely subtle indication or clarification of interpretation is intentionally used to fool other players. I do not find it to be very fair. For example, cases like this:

Player 1 post: 12

Player 2 post: 13

That tiny "1" could possibly means that the actual number of the post is 1, or maybe it is 3, or maybe it is just 13 written in a whacky way. Per rule 4 dealing with multiple interpretations, this post should have been nulled. But that is very hard to be determined by other players through a cursory glance. They will assume it is just 13. So now rule 5 will force such things to be assumed with the most obvious interpretation.

Note that you are still possible to do things like bolding your intended number in middle of a bunch of other numbers like this:

67!

I shall not let these negative infidels advance! (Or go back, in this case.)

666

You have no choice!

It is still pretty obvious what the number is from how it is presented and the context. But if you put a really subtle one without context or clarification, that number is going to be assumed with the most obvious interpretation.

EHMAHGERD I HAVE BEEN QUOTED BY THE WAR MASTER

*ahem* 61.

Fighting back is pointless, my friend.

There's nowhere to run.

You belong to me.

Now, onto more pleasant things.

Try to negative it again, and I'll destroy your pitiful army. TTFN.

Technically you changed the number... or rather the operation ;p

2^6 (-1)

It was "61. (+1)" before, so I set it to only "61" after the other dude said it was invalid, so that it was less confusing.

Also, 65!
