KSP 1.1.2 does not start

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!!

Just got KSP 1.1.2 for mac os x. Due to my producing programs (Logic Pro) I am still running os x 10.6.8

System requirements state that 10.6 or higher will work. But KSP 1.1.2 doesn't even start. No mods right now.

What am I missing?

Hi @Jeb Jawkins, I am sorry to tell you but your version of OS X is out of date, the system specifications on the Kerbal website are not yet updated for the Unity5 upgrade, but Unity5 requires OSX 10.8 and higher.

Unity3D system requirements.

For running Unity games

Generally content developed with Unity can run pretty much everywhere. How well it runs is dependent on the complexity of your project. More detailed requirements:

  • Desktop:
    • OS: Windows XP SP2+, Mac OS X 10.8+, Ubuntu 12.04+, SteamOS+
    • Graphics card: DX9 (shader model 2.0) capabilities; generally everything made since 2004 should work.
    • CPU: SSE2 instruction set support.
    • Web Player (deprecated): Requires a browser that supports plugins, like IE, Safari and some versions of Firefox
  • iOS: requires iOS 6.0 or later.
  • Android: OS 2.3.1 or later; ARMv7 (Cortex) CPU with NEON support or Atom CPU; OpenGL ES 2.0 or later.
  • WebGL: Any recent desktop version of Firefox, Chrome, Edge or Safari
  • Windows Phone: 8.1 or later
  • Windows Store Apps: 8.1 or later

Rosetta after 10.6.8 :(

I just jumped from 10.6.8 to 10.11.4 because, well, the writing's been on the wall for a long time and so many updates just won't work. The transition, and loss of older (and arguably better) apps, has been painful.
