How Life could exist on Titan

Recommended Posts

After reading stuff on the moon Titan and the possibilities of life on it, I began to wonder, " What would life be like on Titan?" My guesses are either microbial life or methane breathing multi-cellular creatures that rarely ever move. What do you think life could be like on Titan?

It's a really low energy world, if there was any life present it would act in incredibly slow an in an attempt to conserve what energy it has. Titan based life forms would possibly be far more efficient than earth based life as they would ideally conserve as much of the energy they can.

That would be pointless. Acetylene, which is going to be primary nourishment for these things, is going to be concentrated on surface and in methane pools. Most of the life, if any, is likely to be found in these methane pools. Some might live on rocks and in the sand in "humid" valleys as a thin layer of organic slime.

There could be a source of food on Titan more accessible than methane pools - other Titanians.

And what do these "other" titanians feed on? Any food chain on Titan will start with acetylene. That means any life will be found where acetylene is plentiful.
