1. Or you could call it a UFO. Or maybe an IFO "Indescribable flying object". ;-)
2. This wasn't the 3rd flight for the same booster, was it? Judging by the landing, I kind of doubt they'll fly this one again.
3. Really, I'm first? Well looks like your keeping at it SQUAD. :-)
4. My only recommendation to everyone is "Patience, for it is time for the Jedi to code as well." Look, obviously the localization effort to taking up a lot of the KSP dev resources. SQUAD has learned over the years that giving information on features in work, if they aren't certain to deliver, stirs up ire in the community. Remember GP2, "Shmelta-V", multiplayer, and Porkjet's rocket revamp? They were all good ideas but never came to fruition for various reasons. I speculate that they are working on a big complex feature with lots of different avenues. But it's still early in the development phase, and they are still trying out new ideas. Not every facet they are looking at now will make it to the final product, so it's premature for them to announce it to the community. Depending on which ideas work for the update, and which don't, they may significantly modify their early expectations. I believe in SQUAD, and I know that they are even more passionate about this game than I am. I give them the benefit of the doubt, and trust that we will hear more in the future when it is ready.
5. Maybe they're working on multiplayer again? There was someone in the team who was coding it into KSP like 2 years ago, but I haven't heard anything about it since long before Harvestar left.
6. Any plans to empower the scientists and particularly engineers now that pilots are so essential?
7. I think SQUAD's been wholely focused on the PS4 release of KSP. They just released it earlier today.
8. What mod are you using for the clouds? Those effects are pretty sweet.
9. It's a shame you're not an American Citizen, because I could put a good word in for you in the Human Space Program. ;-) Seriously though Felipe, your game reawakened my childhood dream to become a rocket scientist when I was persueing my chemical engineering degree and graduate school. Thanks to the inspiration you gave me, I got the courage to try and keep trying to get into the aerospace industry. Now so am a real rocket scientist, working to answer NASA's questions as I work on the launch vehicle meant to take humans to Mars! Thank you for letting me get the chance to dream, and for teaching me more about rocket science than I ever hoped to learn on my own. May your future endeavors be just as inspiring and successful.
10. Hmmm, cutaway views of our vessels. It's a nice graphics touch, but I don't see the utility of seeing the internals of manned vehicles. Unless... ;-)
11. Devnotes are quite nice But without some poetry perhaps too concise.
12. So is the couple/uncouple system more or less broken in 1.1 than 1.0.5? Overall, I haven't had any significant issues yet (but then my newest save hasn't progressed to large space stations yet.
13. One thing I haven't seen discussed yet about the weighted contract system is the fact that everybody starts on Kerbin. Due to the way career start, almost everybody starts the early game with a lot of missions around Kerbin's SOI. Doesn't this mean that contracts will tend to be weighted towards Kerbin? Squad should definitely give the player the option of choosing one or two destinations to focus on.
14. I'm proud of you guys at SQUAD, for not letting schedule pressure harm the quality of your product. I run into the same situation in my work, and I'm glad you made the right choice. Also, if you are still planning a major graphics/audio overhaul (as was implied by Maxmaps), I'd highly recommend doing that before making the console releases. No sense in releasing an inferior product to the non-desktop/laptop audience.
15. I work on the SLS, but I gotta say I prefer the old paint job. I'm pretty sure they're making it orange to save hundreds of pounds of payload due to paint.
16. This sounds like an awesome content/bug-fixing update! I'm particularly interesting in the navball being visible for Kerbals on EVA. Will we be able to see the same markers we have on the vessel Navball? That would be extremely helpful for navigation. Setting manuver nodes on EVA would be nice too, but I'm guessing that would be overkill.
17. How would we balance out a smaller drill? Maybe it couldn't pick up materials as quickly, or overheats easier? Perhaps it could realistically cut down the ability to grab resource from a location even more? Just some engineering thoughts.
18. [Redacted Self] I was commenting on how to balance ISRU, but it looks like RoverDude answered that question.
19. My optimism! Haven't gotten around to unlocking Rapier engines yet.
20. Playing 1.0.4, naturally! Whether or not my save gets broken again, I'm going to enjoy what I have now.
21. For saves where Kerbals don't have permadeath, I'm sure they spend time sharing stories. Bill: "Did I ever tell you about the time I crashed on the Mun, and still made it back home to KSC on Kerbin in time for breakfast the next day?
22. I work at a rocket company, but I'm still a bit of an amateur at Kerbal. One lunch hour with some of the other young engineers, the conversion went to video games. I mentioned KSP, and everyone instantly knew what I was talking about, but I think I'm the only one who was really a fan. I've tried to get my engineering-minded nephew into KSP, but he's more excited about the mods that allow robots than "serious" rocket science. He managed to get to orbit once, but ran out of fuel when he got there. I keep encouraging him to keep trying, but he's also way behind the updates, since his folks wisely limit his computer time.
23. If you want to make the game more accessible to novices, I'd recommend a full tutorial mode for career, with lots of pop-up hints and a very forgiving budget. And yes, KSP definitely needs a proper manual--I'm sure you guys at squad could hold a competition to get free help from the community. For accessibility, maybe have a graphics option that works for colorblind people.
24. I used to use more awesome names, like Prometheus and Zeus, but I've been through a few career saves (my saves tend to be crippled by updates, so I've never gotten very far), so I've relaxed my naming scheme to just goofiness. In my latest save, I nearly ran out of money early on trying to get a handle on the new aerodynamics. My rocket classes were therefore called the Penultimatum, the Ol' Tomato (Ultimatum), it saved my space program, and finally the Carrot. Every save, I reserve the name "Valkyrie" for probe-core controlled rescue vehicles. Makes it very easy for me to know what I'm using it for, and keeps me from risking extra Kerbals just to do a rescue mission.
25. I still remember how shocked I was when I killed Bill on the Mun, and he somehow got back to KSC within a day.
