  1. "The passage of time is relentless and unforgiving. The desire to speed up the journey from the cradle to the grave is nothing short of perverted" -said my Dad to me when I was anxious for Christmas to come
  2. When it's finished melting, silly. How to make liquid CO2?
  3. True. I was in a choir. The user below me is fastidious about their laundry.
  4. Banned for having more than 100 posts.
  5. Banned for replying with quote.
  6. Why is it that you want to launch right from the hangar?
  7. I would love if there was a manned space station system that generated science over time, but it needed resupply to stop people abusing time warp. I have a gut feeling that science will become renewable in 0.24 with the new funds and rep.
  8. I'm sure they'll update the aerodynamics before multiplayer at the very least.
  9. My most ambitious SSTO set out to complete the epic task of leaving the runway. And it didn't.
  10. I would be against this concept even if it weren't for the scam-like nature of the project. For a start, solar panels are extremely bad at generating energy at our current level of technology. They're also quite fragile, which means that sticking them in roads where they are exposed to traffic and weather is a terrible idea. Thus for protection they have to be covered in some polymer that requires extensive maintenance and, because it's not 100% transparent, reduces the efficiency of the cells. You'd be much better off installing the things on the roof, something I'd support. And this whole thing about being able to heat up to remove snow? The amount of energy required to do that would far exceed their generation capabilities. I don't like solar power because as people have said, it's pretty pathetic at generating power. That's why I believe fusion power is the way to go for the future, because it's clean and near infinite with an enormous energy load. We should be devoting our resources to developing that, instead of these daft roadways. Until then, stick to fission power, at least for a little while.
  11. It's quite possible. It helps if you have extra torque or a gimbal-ing engine.
  12. My friend and I picked up KSP at the same time, and therefore started competing to see who could get to the mun first. His space program became the "rival" of mine. I liked the thrill of the competition, and I think if an AI opponent were introduced after "scope completion" as an expansion it would definitely enrich the experience.
  13. Most spacecraft are cooled by radiation rather than convection.
  14. If you've been following Scott Manley, he also did a video on how to rendezvous another ship. Good thing is that it's easy around Minmus. There is a two seater capsule, but if you want him home sooner just bung on an extra one man cabin to your rescue ship.
  15. The game is in Alpha. There is no cheating.
  16. 1. KSP 2. Majora's Mask 3. XCOM Enemy Unknown 4. BioShock 5. Supreme Commander
  17. I shoot lightning from my hand, disabling the robot. I lob a wrench at the next poster.
  18. Perhaps it's time for a rope thread. ... Anyone?
  19. I think there's a bunch of things to consider. Firstly, the engines need to be powerful enough so that newer players can build functioning aircraft. Secondly, the stats don't seem unreasonable to me. I've heard that the rocket parts are underpowered compared to their real life counterparts to compensate for the fact that the Kerbol system is really small, and I think the jet engines aren't scaled down as much. Thirdly, and most importantly, the reason players can construct Mach 7 upper atmosphere super-planes is because KSP doesn't make engines overheat despite the fact that the intake air would be travelling at supersonic speeds. This allows them to travel at the speeds they do. Personally, I think they should implement jet overheating that would need to be addressed with a new Pre-Cooler part. (Maybe find a use for the Radial Engine Body?)
  20. Since the logo contest has been resolved (congratulations to the winners- whoever they may be), I was thinking we could start a new thread for everyone else to post their logos. That way we can look at everyone's great ideas despite them not making it into the game! I'd start it off with one of my own but this is the first time I've ever used an internet forum and I don't know how to pictures. Err... Post away I guess! Look forward to seeing what people came up with. (If there's already a similar thread to this one please feel free to delete this one and/or burn my house down) Have fun.
