    You are Awesome Birdog!

    Hold off on the praise. I'm curious to see what happens. It was listed as a periodical with a dozen different versions and didn't give me the option of choosing which year(s) I wanted, so I have no idea what will arrive.

    I do have a fallback position, being an Indiana resident, I can get an IU library card and IU Bloomington has the volume in question. I should be able to have it sent up to the closest IU campus...I think..

    Would it be possible to get active cooling as an option on the cryo tanks in the new parts? I'd love to build the Mars ship from Stephen Baxter's Voyage but the fuel runs out entirely too fast.

    Not any time soon, but it's definitely something that I'd like to look into for that sort of purpose. Something that kinda looks like a radiator mounted onto an industrial air conditioner the kerbals salvaged :P I'm not sure how the actual science/physics break down, but I'd be interested in something that just cancels boiloff for gameplay purposes.

    You wouldn't even have to get that fancy. I'm thinking just a tweak that comes in at a later tech node that allows you to trade massive amounts of EC for no boiloff perhaps with a small volume hit. It's been a while since I've actually used them, but I think that's how cryotanks does it.

    Thanks.  I buy Reference books but I will hope someone has access to it and can just post any S-4 engine data they find (pictures nice.)  I don't want to shell 60 for a book that will likely remain on my shelf after the fact.

    If I did the online interlibrary loan right, I should have it on the way to my local branch right now.

    There is a potential that an old Janes All the Worlds Aircraft from the early 1960s would have more....    But I don't have access to anything older than 1974 OR newer than 1954   That 20 year span there are none in any reference libraries in my area.

    If I placed the hold correctly, I have

    Quote

    1943/44-1945/46, 1948, 1950/51, 1953/54-1954/55, 1957/58-1959/60, 1962/63-1964/65, 1968/70, 1976/77

    On the way to my local library. Will advise.

    The engine looks SWEET!    Can't wait till I fly it....  Which sadly won't be for a while given the project I have undertaken...

    RE S-4,   It never left the drawing board.  Atleast Battleship bells and functioning combustion chambers were made for the E-1.     The biggest source for it is :

    Two different Wiki groups list Janes AtwA 1964 if anyone out there has that year (or the year before or after maybe....)

  5. I am pleased to announce that this https://drive.google.com/file/d/10VpXhbsT8MRxVUdg4SlbblVZ1g7fbUap/view?usp=sharing magnificently Kerbal, RL proposal works with BDB in a 2.5x stock system. Barely. I expended nearly every last ounce of fuel to get it done.  And that's by cutting a real cute Kerbin orbit rendezvous on the very first orbit at launch AP for the Gemini. I ran out of fuel in the Centaur about 200 m/s short of injection and had to finish on MP from the Lunar Gemini. I used the Agena to brake the stack into a 50k orbit, then expended the rest of the Agena as a crasher. Landed, and returned to a 25k orbit with just enough fuel to do it. Had to bring the Gemini down to meet and used the MP from the lander to match velocities. After trans-Kerbin injection, I had only the capsule MP left and maybe 5 m/s left in the SM. That was a close run thing.

    Allow me to give closure - I could never get the model to fit inside a 1.875m fairing :P I think it's too different from the "real" thing - in as much as there was one. The Gemini lander doesn't really match the Langley lander, and given the fact that the lander can is already as small as it could be... yeah. It's already pretty, uh, optimistic when you think about how there's no space allocated to life support, electrics, etc in that build...

    My headcanon is that it flies in a Titan 3E fairing. You could probably get away with the Atlas MPF that was added somewhat recently, the slightly expanded 1.875m fairing.

    I got it to fit in the SLV-Agena fairing by using 70% scale legs. That also had the side benefit of reducing mass and solving a couple delta V issues. Looking at the model, I think if you inverted the landing leg truss(putting the single tube on the bottom and the double on top) and then played a few games with where the truss breaks over and how the strut interacts, it might work.

    Yeah @CobaltWolfI might have mentioned it before, but it could be a good idea to either beef up the Ascent stage monoprop tanks, or add tanks to the descent stage. When I played with the old LM, Clipping around the same amount of RCS fuel into the descent stage would just about last me using RCS heavily during the descent, and the amount inside the Ascent Stage would just about last ascent and docking. I know it’s a minor thing, but I’m sure others have noticed how it could have a bit more monoprop in it.

    You could turn off RCS when under powered descent. The LMDE is vectored.

    So I am looking for opinions.   I have just deleted every mod out of my KSP folder.   I am building an entirely new Modset.

    Core to the Modset will be BDB (I hope that is a Duh! comment but none the less..)

    I am looking for suggestions on what to do.   I have Played Galileo, JNSQ and never got anywhere with them.    Rarely getting past Kerbin orbit.      In Stock I did a full tour so I feel like I am under utilizing both Galileo and JNSQ.   I have ZERO interest in any RSS play and RO is just plain OUT.

    What I am looking for is a play-through where I can actually play and plan flight plans like for Pioneer or Voyager missions.    A Play-through where I CAN visit other planets and RETURN.   I will likely make my new play-through a SCIENCE play-through.   Not worried about funding.

    So here is my ASK.     What mods should I include.    I am looking at including the Mathlab Trajectory Optimization tool for the mission planning.   But what are your essentials to playing such a mission?

    So please TELL ME what I should be including.    I am hoping to have less than a 20 minute load time on my 64GB with SSD system for KSP here!

    I don't need any fuel patches for BDB (I already have those in a near perfected form and they MAY be rolled to the Extras Folder with the Devs permission)  After all with the new Saturn Update most all of my Pafftek section in the Extras folder will become obsolete.

    Please feel free to share your thoughts.   Excepting BDB and the TOT mod I currently have no plans for other mods unless you the members of the BDB forum give me good suggestions!

    Try a planet pack that puts Kerbin as a moon. That's a whole new challenge.

    Good job!  Here are some helpful links.  When I set up my first Repo (repository) there was a link to a bunch of Youtube Videos as well on Github... can't find it now to save my bacon so atleast I can provide these!

    https://guides.github.com/activities/hello-world/#pr

    https://docs.github.com/en/github/collaborating-with-pull-requests

    I decided to just go ahead and log an issue and attach my fix. Because I'm sure it needs massaging anyway.

    @Zorg I think I may have found my issue with getting the science out of the KH-10. Neither the Gemini nor the MOL lab allow in vessel science transfer. For reference I pulled up the Keyhole recovery pod which does work and saw this

    {
    		name = ModuleScienceContainer

    		reviewActionName = #autoLOC_502201 //#autoLOC_502201 = Review Stored Data
    		storeActionName = #autoLOC_502202 //#autoLOC_502202 = Store Experiments
    		evaOnlyStorage = True // i.e. can nearby regular vessels also do this, or EVA only
    		storageRange = 1.3
    		canBeTransferredToInVessel = True
    		canTransferInVessel = True
    		showStatus = True
    	}

    While Gemini has

    {
    		name = ModuleScienceContainer
    		reviewActionName = Review Stored Data
    		storeActionName = Store Experiments
    		evaOnlyStorage = True
    		storageRange = 2.0
    	}

    and MOL has

    {
    		name = ModuleScienceContainer
    		reviewActionName = Review Data
    		storeActionName = Store Experiments
    		collectActionName = Take Data
    		evaOnlyStorage = True
    		storageRange = 2
    		allowRepeatedSubjects = True
    	}

    Do these 3 lines need to be added?

    		canBeTransferredToInVessel = True
    		canTransferInVessel = True
    		showStatus = True

    Success. Looks like I need to figure out how to do a pull request...

    Problem persists. Is this something that can be seen in the log? Tomorrow if I have time I'll try and start with just a basic BDB install and then slowly add mods until I get to the problem to rule out a conflict.

    Fuel cell issue was PEBKAC. I never hit the part switch in the editor...

    Possibly, a clean install will be more informative for sure.

    Update. Just launched a KH-7 and the science transfer using an action group works as expected. I also had a transfer science button on the camera part. That started, but I could not complete because the pod was hidden inside the heat shield. That was not surprising though.

    Possible a part switch version that adds LS with no external change?

    On the science issue it's most likely a problem unique to my installation. I added the command to an action group but it did not fire so it's a deeper problem than just BDB I'm thinking.

    I also discovered that even though I have the fuel cell patch installed, I'm not getting H2 added and it is burning monoprop. So I've got something going on there. I just dumped my MM cache so I'm curious to see if this will fix the issues. Will advise. I'm heading out for the day so it'll be this evening before you hear back from me.

    I've not seen anything definitive. One image I've seen of the wetlab has the solar panels attached to an SLA style petal shroud that are retained in orbit. I could imagine radiators being built into those. But most versions look more like normal skylab and I dont see an obvious main radiator. (The MDA does have a small radiator built into the black section around the zenith docking port).

    wetworkshop.jpg

    re LS something to consider I guess. I think that part was specifically batteries and monoprop only due to its use as a service module for the gemini ferry.

    Not sure about the other issue, will see if its reproducible when I get a chance to test.
