  1. Are there still grown ups who actually care about April Fools day and those childish jokes? Come on..
  2. Which is a little bit weird policy in my opinion. Recycling is always better then inventing a new wheel when there is a used one out there which still can be used. In this case; adding more and more (duplicated) data into a database, while the data is already in it. What are the general rules/timeline before topics start running out of time? Still a little bit vague..
  3. Technically; Unity already support 64 bit versions. Nobody knows what the real problem is, but Unity v.s KSP on a 64 bit Windows platform is asking for a whole lot of weird problems. There is already a 64 bit Linux version of KSP out there. About the Apple platform I don't have a clue. (..IOS..) I just hate that "I" claiming thingy that Apple has going on there, so I'm stubbed and try to avoid it as much as I can. Unity 64 bit Windows version v.s KSP code is a weird combination. Leave it at that. They try to get it work, but right now.. It doesn't work that well..
  4. I seriously don't think they "force" you into multiplayer mode/gameplay. Like most games it will probably be a different mode which you can combine with either career or sandbox play
  5. To be honest; I do understand the question. Sometimes Squad doesn't really know how to communicate the right way/forget that they have a huge community. Pretty sure they indeed had a little Christmas/New Year time-off like anybody else. They deserve it. No question about it. But if you do take some time-off, or close a business or something like that, people should know. So, don't feel bad for asking. This could been avoided..
  6. What is the goal about space expiration to begin with? Two main reasons; Because we can (Yes, that is a reason), and because of the science. The understanding of it all. And that is the whole point in what is wrong with the science system in KSP. My opinion though. The point of landing somewhere is learning something from it. What was the mun? How did it get there? What happened to it? Was there life? Could it contain life? Science as it is sucks! It really does. It's a currency in career mode, other then that it doesn't mean a thing. Resources is a part of a goal when you land. IF you land, you want to drain the resources of it yes. IF you can make fuel or something like that, you would do that. Of course. It's a part of it. But that's not the goal. That's not the end game. Space exploration is all about understanding the planet, and or maybe move there/make a base/city/civilization..
  7. Why not scrape the whole existing tank part section as it is (doesn't really fit together). Build a random selection of different shapes and sizes and let the amount AND the type of fuel tweak-able for the end user. Why add all kind of different tanks with a different fuel type? Only thing you do is filling up the part count..
  8. I know it's not a huge priority; but painting and or decals. As a sort of cool thing to have besides the usual career works. It may not look like a big deal, but KSP players are very creative, so it would be a very cool thing to have and to be seeing used.
  9. It's so simple that nobody thought about it before. Kudos to you sir Edit: But to give a on-topic statement; You have to consider the time in Mexico to figure out the expected "time" of arrival. And since it's the middle of the night in Mexico, it's going to take some hours at least..
  10. Good point! Does anyone know how that system works? Are the games/updates on the Steam platform actually hosted on Steam Servers?? And if yes, when they release a game/update do they upload it to Steam Servers or? How does it work?
  11. I have mixed feelings with this one. It's great to have a actual date. On the other hand; Now it's more then obvious that the server(s?) will be down in less then a minute.. Now I have to refresh ever second of the day too (like everbody else), to prevent I have to wait a day or two/three because the server(s?) are over flooded, down or simply shutdown because of the huge server traffic they cannot handle
  12. Experimental testing means nothing more then releasing a beta kind of version into a controlled group of users. There may be some Youtubers out there, but Experimentals doesn't mean it's open to the public yet. It's simply bug testing in a larger and -more importantly- controlled group of users using different operation systems, using different computers, with different hardware. If you do sign up for that kind of testing, you sign a form. And on this form you signed, you keep things to yourself untill Squad gives the clear. Something like that. They can't just simply make a video and dump it on Youtube or something like that..
  13. It's obvious they wanna release it before or during Kerbalcon..
  14. http://www.shapeways.com/model/1008453/gene-kerman.html?li=shop-results&materialId=26 Here you go; http://www.shapeways.com/model/998740/wernher-von-kerman.html?li=shortUrl
  15. Let the whole game system working to Squad please. I don't like it when people paint the whole picture there with names, numbers and everything and then say: This HAS to be this, and that SHOULD be that. Please don't. It's annoying..
  16. I agree. Science is now used as an unlock currency in career mode which resulted into your argument; Science in sandbox is useless. Although that is true at the moment, it shouldn't be useless. Science should be science no matter what. Hopefully they change something about that down the road :-)
  17. The problem with this is, that you make it to technical. Granted, it's really cool. But remember, it's a game. You don't want to make it to realistic. Only a handful of really hardcore players out there would want that kind of difficult (realistic) science system (And understand it), cause they want to know/reflect to the real life Space Programs. Gameplay is all about finding a balance between real life, (Being realistic, accurate and scientific right) and fun to play, learn and or understand it at all ages. It's cool for sure. As a mod. Or maybe a expansion or something. It's just not a real/doable suggestion that fits the game right now..
  18. Me and my brother talked about this same thing today as well. Something like the Skyrim principale. The more you do melee attacks, the more melee skills and or tricks you get in Skyrim. I always assumed that Kerbal kind of took the same road there because they always said/the goal was, that the Kerbal system some kind of rewards you the more you learned. As said; it would be neat to unlock better landing gear/legs because you pulled of some tricky landings on old gear. Like Skyrim; The more you land, the better your getting at it. I totally agree; It's a more honest, solid and rewarding system in my opinion. Science points are cool, but science points should indeed be collected by doing science, but shouldn't be used as "unlocking currency".
  19. Great, you do that. I mean that. But everyone plays this game on a different way. For me the science vs tech tree kind of kills the fun. That's all I said. You maybe have a huge imagination. Good for you. I'm sober on the other hand. Science, as the way it is, is nothing more than a tool to unlock something new on the tech tree. It's no fun. It's something you HAVE to do, to get further into the tech tree. Not because it's that a big of a deal/achievement. If you can fly to the mun, you can do science there. If you can go to Duna, then you can do science there. The Science itself is just a tool. If you go to Duna, and you do science, then you do it because you need science points to unlock something. If you already unlock everything, doing science it pointless, not fun, means nothing. If you reach the end of the tech tree, you do not a single peace of science again. Do a sandbox mode play, and you know what I mean. Science means nothing there. Science it a tool, not a feature. And that, is kind of disappointing..
  20. The most disappointing thing about career right now is the science. As weird as it sounds. Right now the only point of doing science is to collect some points. To go further on the tech tree. Science itself isn't fun anymore. You put on some weird science stuff, fly to the mun, do a random experiment (all science/experiment is the same. Another disappointment..), go back home, and bam! Points. Now you can "research" a ladder. I don't know, for me it's not that great. Hopefully the next upcoming updates will fix that kind of career play somehow..
  21. Does anyone figured out how to decouple yet? I saw in some video's it can be done. Question is, how? (Space bar doesn't work)
  22. If you get in a car without driving license/any driving experience at all, an you DO happen to hit a person, would you blame the company how made the car? Tutorials has one purpose; They explain how the game works. Do you skip them? I understand, I do it a lot of the time myself too. Trying to find out myself. But at the end of the day it was a choice YOU made. What your asking is a fool proof for something that doesn't need a fool proof..
  23. Squad works with Milestones. They tell us when a Milestone is reached. The next Milestone for 0.22 would be the QA testing. The internal testing phase behind the door of Squad sort of speak. It obviously depends on how many bugs and problems they encounter, but mostly that phase shouldn't take more then two or three weeks. After that Milestone they put out another Milestone. Experiment testing (External). Testing with a larger group of selected players/testers all around the world. Again; depending on how many bugs, problems etc they find it usually takes another two or three weeks. Knowing all this; you will have in a way a release date. (Loosely). Or at least the knowledge when the release it getting closer and closer..
  24. Funny thing; GMT has different zones. +1, +2, +3 etc etc. Same goes for CST though. What CST are we talking about? I checked at GMT 23:30 and the guy said an hour and a half until stream. So for me it would be 01:30 GMT +1. It's so freaking weird sometimes..
  25. Yes, KSP is hard to handle right now. It's a Alpha, it's forgiven. The code probably isn't that good optimized yet. They probably have to learn some programming stuff along the way. Unity has some issues on that part too. But I look past that. Someday that HAS to be better and or fixed. Otherwise your doomed.. If they want to finish a real, well working Kerbal Space Program version, they can't get away without a 64 bit version, and or without multi-core support. Cause that's the standard now a days. And I know they fight with all power to get at least a 64 bit version to get working property. Because the devs feel there limitations too when it comes to memory usage and stuff like that. I look past that cause with all the problems Kerbal maybe now has, it shouldn't be a problem in the future because it has at least a year, or two or maybe more to even consider finish. And if Kerbal reached that point, it should be running a lot smoother with a lot less memory/CPU problem and limitations as it has right now. So, no excuse..
