Hello, I have recently built a B9 craft using its Large 8m cargo bay, I did manage to attached a payload inside is using a radial decoupler, however it was very difficult. If i place the decoupler in the bay first, then i couldnt attach my payload., i had to build the payload and decoupler on a separate sacrificial external beam and then transfer the whole assembly into the bay. This seems like a hard work for such a simple task. Do you guys have any tips for mounting payloads in the Cargo bays of the B9 mod?

would it not have moved from the 90* position and be directly in my path by the time i reach it?

Everything is between 80 and 100 for me, that way i need less fuel or seperatrons for a de-orbit burn.

Hi, is there a known time to launch a mission to the Mun without getting into Orbit First? I mean launching straight upwards untill a Mun encounter is achieved. What position should the Mun be in, in relation to the Launch site?

I currently work as a quality Inspector for Airbus, moving into Inspection after 8 years of Engineering. Specialising in Composites.

Just a thought, with no air to record speed, how does a space craft know how fast it is going? Does it rely on radar echos from celestial bodies? does it Triangulate is position / speed with known positions of the Planets etc etc? or is there a GPS system that can work in space as it does on the ground?

First of all, Thank you for replying in a respectful and constructive manor. I think my definition of an elitist, may differ from yours. Let me explain my first comment. I have a great deal of respect for the number of people on these forums that are able to carry out rather complex calculations. I find it mind boggling when i read some of the equations that people post on here, that level of Physics and mathematics knowledge is beyond me. I am in no way criticising people who choose to play the game this way, for a couple of reasons. 1: It is up to the individual how they play the game, there is no right and wrong way. 2: If I had that level of mathematics skill, I would probably do the same. My problem is with people that choose to use there Maths and Physics skill to enjoy the game, belittling those who choose to let MechJeb do the work for them, stating quite openly in some cases that any achievement that is done with the use of Mechjeb is invalid. In reply to your comment of the Music industry, i believe this is a case were Elitism is a given aspect of the industry. Being born in the 70s, i find myself hating more and more modern music, and leaning towards the "Proper" Musicians. I'd listen to artists like Queen, ACDC, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Micheal Jackson all day over today’s tripe (Justin Bieber, Nikki Minage, One direction who use a music industry version of Mechjeb) I hope this clears my statement up somewhat.

Make it interactive? have the people your are presenting too, shout out suggestions on building the rocket, then build it. see how a group voted ship flys. But do this without putting in any of your knowledge, let them figure out why its exploding.

Grapics overhauls. My Laptop runs KSP at a decent quality setting with an FPS im happy with, however, with a Intel HD3000 chip, i cant ask it to do much more. So if things like clouds, cities and high res ground textures get added, im dreading the extra workload it will give my Laptop.

A sphere is indeed a very strong shape for a pressure vessel, But when you cut big gaping holes in it for windows, instruments and hatches then the structural integrity is comprimised. Speaking as an ex Aircraft Engineer for Airbus, (now an Inspector for Airbus) I can say that the production methods used to create a Spherical body is a LOT harder than producing a regular curved surface. Plus, with no 1 side pointing in the direction of travel, the whole skin would have to be covered in the Heat tiles. Not Viable.

I've Been listening to this pathetic war between Users and Non-Users for a while now, and to be honest its laughable. There is so much Elitism on this Forum is shocking. Anyway Johno, Here are my thoughts on why I have installed it and use it a lot. Mechjeb for me opens up new opportunity's. I play my game as a designer, not as a pilot. It has been very helpful when it comes to setting up a rendezvous or planetary transfer (moves which I do not have any interest in planning) If, for Example, your goal is to build a Station using multiple craft in orbit, then launching 5 or 6 times into orbit becomes tedious and takes the fun out of the game for me. When all i have to do is press a few buttons and my ship puts itself in orbit. That is, of course, that my ship is designed well enough to make it to my chosen location in the first place. It also provides detailed Delta V stats for each stage should you wish to know this information. I mostly use it to hold a heading though, such as holding a Retrograde attitude when i am performing a Semi-Manual landing on non atmospheric celestial body. Oh and if anybody would like to quote this post stating why my views are wrong and that any achievement or goal i reach is invalid because of Mechjeb. Dont bother, because I am not interested in your views. Hope this helps in your decision Johno.

This is an inefficiant method though, the center stack will be dead weight that will have to be lifted by the outer stacks, Plus without the center engine fireing untill you drop your outer tanks, there is no point using asparagus staging.

If this game was in a box on the shelves of a Game store, then fair enough, we have rights to complain. But it isnt, its still in development stages, which means, its going to be broken at some point while they try new features. We agreed to this experimental process by buying a pre-release incomplete game. So for anybody that is complaining, just give them a chance. We all go on about how good Squad are at PR stuff, so i highly doubt they are ignoring us. They will be fully aware of the situation and im sure they are working hard on fixing it. But like Stupid_Chris said, they are human, they have social lives. Like us they finish work and go home and relax. So, give them time, and please be patient.

Forgive my ignorance of Physics, but would changing the nozzle diameter of the extinguisher give you any changes to the Dv output?
