  1. Wow im impressed, i know £200k is a lot of money, but for a lot of people is isnt. Such as rich bankers and footballers, Why are there not countless cubesats orbiting the Moon i dont knowm how cool woould it be to say you have your own salelite??
  2. Really? that little? i take it your talking about using a pre-built launch vehicle and cubesat design so development costs are not factored in?
  3. Welcome to the Forums. I know what you mean about how addictive it is, i think most people that play this game started out this way.
  4. Ok, ive modifyed the score to reflect this, hopefully, people would not want to waste fuel getting to a higher altitude and use it for another jump instead. Thankyou BTW Added this exclusion, Thankyou.
  5. Hello guys, this is my first Challenge submission so please forgive any noob mistakes. I have not yet tried this myself as my Laptop that runs KSP is in for a small repair. BUT here goes... Design and build a craft that can take off from Kerbin, Achieve 80k Altitude. Land back on Kerbin and repeat, using the same craft. Following Rules Apply. Craft must launch from Kerbin each time. Mods are allowed (however, NOT Remote Techs Aeroprobe) Unlimited Fuel is NOT allowed. No refueling to take place (Weather in orbit or on the ground). Fuel can be transferred to different tanks mid flight should you wish. Parachutes are allowed, repacking is also allowed. You can land anywhere on the Planets Surface each time. 150 Points per 80k Altitude Achieved. +5 for every extra 50k Altitude on each Climb +50 if No Jet Engines are Used -10 for each excess Air Intake used (Example:- 4 jet engines = 4 intakes. If you use 2 per engine, you will be deducted 40 points.) What do you think? Is this a possible challenge? or am i being silly and unreasonable?
  6. You become Air but the air that is ejected from Micheal Moores Bottom. The ability to freeze time (not for myself)
  7. Ship management of FTL? By This i mean, a cutaway of your craft, with ability to re-direct power to different systems, or put certain kerbals at the helm or on engineering. Managing Airlocks and docking ports this way would be emmense.
  8. If you could post a screenshot of the ship you are using to try and get to the moon, it will help.
  9. As usual, more struts will help. Just put 4 struts inbetween the tanks, if you attatch them to the top of the bottom tank and then to the bottom of the top tank, you will hardly see them, but they will get rid of this oscilation.
  10. Just seen this game on steam for £7, it looks good based on the preview Video, has anybody tried it? i'm thinking of getting it.
  11. Well aslong as your rocket is built like this.. Command pod Orange fuel tank Orange fuel tank Mainsail engine it should work, the top tank will drain first and then the bottom tank. If this doesnt happen it sounds like a bug?
  12. Hi Infinitas, Hi from Lancashire!
  13. 100 Internet points if you can tell me what Engine is behind me in the first Pic.
  14. Welcome to the forums Steve, Happy Landings.
  15. You need to use a decpoupler directly underneath the engine, this will cover the engine with a cowling when placed.
  16. Well here is me (On the Left) Dont look 34 years old do I?
  17. Squad to sell the franchise to EA. Making you pay for each update and all the planets will be available as extra paid DLC
  18. Its very much like that, Both involve trying to line up two "Craft" when Docking, usually done in the dark and when you have transfered your load you de-orbit and crash.
  19. Well, hope is not lost, if you have 9 or less stages on your ship, you could in theory launch just using the keys 1-9 instead of hitting space. This way, on stage 4 for instance, you can trigger extra functions as well as the normal seperation / engine ignition actions that happen when you stage.
  20. I hope the OP has solved the problem and is now enjoying the game. It took me a week to figure out that pressing T helped keep the ship straight, i was flying manualy up untill then, VERY badly.
  21. Welcome to the forums KevKerbin. I can onlty re-itterate what others have said, don't try buildinig some behemoth of a ship at first, start small and light, Ive just got a satelite into a high kerbin orbit using two of the small solid rocket boosters to aid the lift stage. As for the next step, this is the beauty of teh game, its totally up to you , if you want to try and visit every plant, you go ahead, if you want to crown Kerbin with countless satelite, you do so. Nobody can tell you that you are playing the game wrong (even though some may try), But mst of all, have FUN. If you get stuck, or need advice, we are here to help.
  22. Thankyou Everyone, your replies helped a lot.
  23. Hi All, After recently watching HOC's new series, i watched where he worked out some equations relating to calculating DV. My question is, if i was given such an equation to work out, how would i know what units to use as the numbers to input? For instance: F=M/A where it comes to adding the Mass, how do i know weather its in Kilos, Tons, Pounds, Ounces etc etc... because based on what unit i use, can it seriously affect the result?
  24. Oh, im sorry if we ignorant people dont obey all the strict rules of the game and play it the way you do, which is, of course, the CORRECT way.
