  1. Yap. I've actually decided I don't really like the way Kittopia exports height and normal maps.... i think they're better straight out of SE. I just then set the normal map to 50% opacity in PS. After that i play around with PQS offset to make the height map not be too crazy.
  2. So this is weird.... I'm getting an issue where the ocean on ice seems to break near the north pole.... The height map is definitely low enough there so this doesn't make sense.... anyone know whats up?
  3. Hmm can a science.cfg go anywhere? Also how can I find my biome id? edit: Lovely photo I got of Porp just now
  4. Work on the biomes for Ice is coming along nicely.... Is it possible to adds the blurbs yet? Meaning, if you took a soil sample (are soil samples possible), we could have a custom description for the experiment?
  5. Weird.. I didn't change anything other than its location so I'm not sure what else it could be..
  6. Well, I figured out the biome issue. It lies somewhere inside Kopernicus. Biomemap files have to be inside the Kopernicus folder (I put the map in the textures folder of OPM) and it worked....
  7. Here is the biome map, if you want to take a look https://mega.co.nz/#!CRUljbjC!0_emzWTLezm0ExHL6zS2aJvBUHynnypdLP9PFDFF26s - - - Updated - - - Nice!
  8. Make sure you can actually orbit the body... the game will load with something that far away, it crashes once you try to orbit it with a ship, at least for me
  9. I would do 1/10scale... so closest star to earth is 4.243ly away so in KSP it'd be about (4.243/10)ly away. KSP would crash though and it'd be too hard to get there, but it definitely should be very far....
  10. It is in PNG. The only thing I can think of is that the borders of the different biomes blend together, so those few pixels are not any color listed in the biome config....
  11. It is frustrating but Grav says he plans on adding an error tracking, though it might not be the godsend some people want (error strings can sometimes be gibberish.) I don't get my biome bug, as I'm almost certain I set it up just like OPM does...
  12. So I tried adding biomes to my latest planet and it causes the no planet loading thing.... Anyone see a reason why? http://pastebin.com/bRQuyzWW (excuse indents, they don't copy right from notepad++)
  13. Do these actually produce light? How far exactly from Kerbol? Looks spiffy Also Porp System 0.15 is up!
  14. That would be cool. My biggest wish, though Squad has always said it won't happen, is literally space engine in KSP. Start a game with either stock system or random, and you could enter a seed and it'd produce a nice random system. Maybe you could find Tatooine by chance then
  15. Lol it's alright I haven't tried but I'd guess no, but I might be wrong. My reason being that, AFAIK, if a new planet has an atmosphere, it's template has to too. So I'd guess you can't add one to an existing one without one.
  16. Oh.. Hm lol Anyways, uploading 0.15 of the Porp system right now. New planet and fixes. Biomes are next.
  17. Gonna release an update soonish. Changes: Adds new iceball planet on a highly inclined orbit of Porp. It is 100% icey and very mountainous. Name is Snowball (for now). Fixes pixelation of heightmap via blur. Changes Ice's surface to a whole different planet. I like it a lot more and the transition from land to water is a lot better. Ice's orbit is now 4k further out.
  18. I thought OPM used Space Engine for textures as well? edit: Oh wait I'm think of TK, I think Yah, asteroids from SE work great. I'd say about 1/4 of planets turn out pretty good in KSP. I'm thinking of ditching my Ice planet's export in favour of some other Ice/ocean planet because of how flat the height map is. Hard to deal with. Also, pixelation is very noticeable with an ocean from the heightmap, of course offset can take care of that.
  19. Yes it does. All you need to do is select a body, push esc, push edit and then export planet.
  20. Nice! Why does Porp look so featureless on your end, though? edit: Update -- Applying a surface blur to the heightmap of a planet cures that pixelation.
